PSDA 1 GUIDELINES – INTERDISCIPLINARY PROJECT
OBJECTIVE

Network with corporate employee / carry out industry research survey to identify and
understand the translation of leadership styles and power dynamics in daily work practices.

TASK: Research on Leadership Styles and Power Dynamics

Students will independently network with corporate employees and carry out an industry
research survey to identify and understand the translation of leadership styles and power
dynamics in daily work practices. The project will encourage students to choose a specific
aspect of leadership or power dynamics, fostering creativity and critical thinking skills.

PROJECT WORK GUIDELINES


1. Topic Selection and Proposal

• Each student must choose a specific aspect of leadership styles or power dynamics that
interests them.
• Submit a brief proposal outlining their chosen topic and why it interests them?

2. Virtual Networking and Survey Preparation

• Create or optimize your professional LinkedIn profiles for networking or you’re their
personal email for the purpose of networking.

• Students should draft a professional introduction message to send to potential respondents.


Provide screenshots or copies of at least three different messages you sent to each potential
respondents via email or LinkedIn.

• Ensure the messages include your introduction, the purpose of the survey, and a request for
their participation.

• Develop a survey with 10-15 questions related to your specific topic.

3. Conducting the Survey

• Students must reach out to at least 5 corporate employees to request participation in their
survey.

• Conduct the survey via online survey tools.

4. Creative Presentation of Findings

• Analyze the survey data to identify common and unique insights.


• Students should use creative methods to present their findings in a detailed written report
with visuals and infographics.

5. Report Preparation: The report should include the following sections


• Brief Explanation of Chosen Topic: Concise overview of the specific aspect of
leadership or power dynamics chosen for investigation.
• Why the Topic Interests You?: Personal motivation or curiosity behind selecting the
topic.
• Project Objectives: Clear statements outlining the goals and aims of the research
project.
• Significance of the Topic: Explanation of how understanding the topic contributes to
insights into leadership styles and power dynamics in daily work practices.
• Brief Literature Review: Summary of relevant literature and existing research related
to the chosen topic.
• Survey Design Overview: Overview of the structure and content of the survey
developed for data collection.
• List of Respondents: Identification of survey participants including their names, job
titles, and companies.
• Analysis of Survey Data: Examination of survey responses using tables, graphs, and
pie charts to present insights.
• Detailed Written Report: Comprehensive report incorporating visuals and
infographics to present findings.
• Key Findings: Summary of the main discoveries or insights derived from the
research.
• Conclusion: Recap of the research findings and their implications.
• References: List of sources cited in the report.
• Questionnaire: Copy of the survey questionnaire used for data collection.
• Screenshots of Messages: Evidence of communication with all survey respondents
via email or LinkedIn.
