\section{Introduction}
Laplace transformation is a powerful integral transform used extensively in mathematics, engineering,
and physics. It simplifies the process of solving linear differential equations by converting them into
algebraic equations. Determinants, on the other hand, play a crucial role in solving systems of linear
equations and analyzing matrix properties. The combination of Laplace transforms and determinants
has significant applications in solving differential systems, network analysis, and control theory.
\section{Definition of Laplace Transform}
The Laplace transform of a function \( f(t) \), defined for \( t \geq 0 \), is given by:
\begin{equation}
\mathcal{L} \{ f(t) \} = F(s) = \int_0^\infty e^{-st} f(t) \, dt, \quad s > 0.
\end{equation}
This transformation converts a time-domain function into a complex frequency-domain function.
\section{Determinants and Laplace Expansion}
A determinant of an \( n \times n \) matrix \( A \) is given by:
\begin{equation}
\det(A) = \sum_{j=1}^{n} (-1)^{i+j} a_{ij} M_{ij},
\end{equation}
where \( M_{ij} \) is the minor obtained by removing the \( i \)-th row and \( j \)-th column.
Laplace expansion is a method for computing determinants using cofactors:
\begin{equation}
\det(A) = \sum_{j=1}^{n} (-1)^{i+j} a_{ij} \det(M_{ij}).
\end{equation}
\section{Application of Laplace Transform in Determinants}
When solving linear systems of differential equations using the Laplace transform, the transformed
system often involves determinants. Consider a system of two differential equations:
\begin{align}
\frac{dx}{dt} + a x + b y &= f(t), \\
\frac{dy}{dt} + c x + d y &= g(t).
\end{align}
Applying the Laplace transform, we get:
\begin{align}
s X(s) + a X(s) + b Y(s) &= F(s), \\
s Y(s) + c X(s) + d Y(s) &= G(s).
\end{align}
This system can be rewritten in matrix form:
\[
\begin{bmatrix}
s + a & b \\
c&s+d
\end{bmatrix}
\begin{bmatrix}
X(s) \\ Y(s)
\end{bmatrix}
=
\begin{bmatrix}
F(s) \\ G(s)
\end{bmatrix}.
\]
The determinant of the coefficient matrix is:
\begin{equation}
\Delta(s) = (s + a)(s + d) - bc.
\end{equation}
Solving for \( X(s) \) and \( Y(s) \) using Cramer's rule involves determinants:
\begin{equation}
X(s) = \frac{\begin{vmatrix} F(s) & b \\ G(s) & s + d \end{vmatrix}}{\Delta(s)}, \quad
Y(s) = \frac{\begin{vmatrix} s + a & F(s) \\ c & G(s) \end{vmatrix}}{\Delta(s)}.
\end{equation}
These transformed equations can be inverted back to the time domain using inverse Laplace
transformation.
\section{Conclusion}
The Laplace transform method provides an efficient way to solve differential equations, particularly
those involving determinants. By transforming the problem into algebraic equations, we can use
determinant properties and matrix methods to find solutions systematically. This approach is widely
used in control systems, electrical circuit analysis, and applied mathematics.
