Student Guide: Setting Up Automation Anywhere Community Edition

Introduction
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for students to register, install, and access Automation
Anywhere Community Edition for cloud-based RPA labs.

Step 1: Creating an Account


1. Open your web browser (Google Chrome recommended).
2. Go to the Automation Anywhere Community Edition signup page:
https://www.automationanywhere.com/products/community-edition
3. Click on 'Sign Up for Free'.
4. Enter your email address, full name, and password.
5. Verify your email by clicking on the confirmation link sent to your inbox.

Step 2: Logging into Control Room


1. After email verification, visit:
https://community2.automationanywhere.digital/
2. Enter your email and password.
3. Click Login.
4. You will be redirected to the Automation Anywhere Control Room Dashboard.

Step 3: Downloading and Installing Bot Agent


1. Once logged into Control Room, click on 'Download Bot Agent'.
2. Save the Automation Anywhere Bot Agent installer (.exe file).
3. Run the downloaded file and follow the installation steps.
4. After installation, the Bot Agent will automatically connect to Control Room.
5. Refresh the Control Room page to confirm successful connection.

Step 4: Verifying Bot Agent Connection


1. Go to Control Room Dashboard.
2. Navigate to Devices -> My Bot Agent.
3. Ensure the status is 'Connected'.
4. If it is disconnected, restart your computer and reopen the Bot Agent.

Step 5: Running Your First Bot


1. Click on 'Create New Bot' in the Control Room.
2. Name your bot: HelloWorld_Bot.
3. Drag the 'Message Box' action to the workspace.
4. Type 'Hello, World! Welcome to RPA.' in the message box.
5. Click 'Run' to execute your first bot.
6. A pop-up message should appear displaying your text.

Troubleshooting Common Issues


Issue: Unable to Log into Control Room
- Solution: Check your internet connection and ensure you are using the correct email/password.

Issue: Bot Agent Not Connecting


- Solution: Restart Bot Agent service from Task Manager.

Issue: Bots Not Running


- Solution: Ensure Bot Agent status is 'Connected' in the Control Room.
