LEVELS OF GAS ARE PRESENT. REQUIRED "HOT WORK" PERMITS
SHALL BE OBTAINED. MONITORING FOR SAFE CONDITIONS SHALL
CONTINUE DURING ALL REWORK. FAILURE TO COMPLY COULD
RESULT IN FIRE AND/OR EXPLOSION, WITH POSSIBLE BODILY
INJURIES AND PROPERTY DAMAGES.

SITE PREPARATION:
1. Thoroughly clean all floors, package interiors, engines and ancillary equipment of all
combustibles.
2. Keep all combustible floors and structure watered down or otherwise protected. Relocate
all movable combustibles at least 35 feet from work. Cover nonmovable combustibles
with suitable fireproof sheeting or shields.
3. Place fireproof sheeting or shields below the work to reduce the splatter of sparks.
4. Cover all wall and floor openings, especially sumps and drains.
5. Cover all filters, screens and similar systems that are impregnated with hydrocarbon
deposits.
6. Where possible pressurize the weld area with clean outside air to prevent induction of
hazardous atmosphere. Monitor the intake air for hydrocarbons and shut down the system
at the first indication of hydrocarbons; evacuate the area.
If the possible hazards cannot be eliminated, it will be necessary to remove the air inlet duct and
replace the clip in a safe atmosphere area.

PROCEDURE: (SEE FIGURE 1.)
