WEEK 1

Lesson Plan: ICT in the 21st Century Skills

Grade Level: K-12 Subject: ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Time Duration: 60 minutes
Lesson Title: ICT in the 21st Century Skills

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

1. Define 21st-century skills and explain their importance in modern education and work
environments.

2. Identify the 4Cs (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication) and their role in
ICT integration.

3. Discuss the significance of ICT in education and how it enhances learning.

4. Analyze the challenges and opportunities in integrating ICT in education.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: 21st Century Skills and ICT Integration Materials:

 PowerPoint Presentation

 Videos on ICT in Education

 Printed Worksheets

 Computers/Tablets (if available)

III. Procedure

A. Introduction (10 minutes)

1. Motivation:

o Ask students: "How do you use technology in your daily life?"

o Show a short video about how ICT has changed learning and communication.

2. Lesson Overview:

o Briefly introduce the importance of ICT in developing 21st-century skills.

o Present the 4Cs (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication) as essential


learning skills.

B. Lesson Proper (30 minutes)

1. Discussion on 21st Century Skills:

o Explain each of the 4Cs with real-life examples.


o Discuss how ICT enhances these skills.

2. Importance of ICT in Education:

o Explain how ICT promotes personalized learning, engagement, and accessibility to


educational resources.

o Present examples of ICT tools used in education (Google Classroom, Zoom, e-books,
etc.).

3. Challenges and Opportunities of ICT Integration:

o Discuss common challenges such as the digital divide, cybersecurity risks, and teacher
training.

o Highlight possible solutions and opportunities for improvement.

C. Application (15 minutes)

1. Group Activity:

o Divide students into small groups.

o Each group will create a simple presentation (poster or digital) on how ICT can be used
to improve learning.

o They will present their work to the class.

D. Evaluation (5 minutes)

1. Quiz/Game Activity:

o Conduct a short quiz or interactive Kahoot! game to assess students’ understanding.

2. Reflection:

o Ask students: "What is the most important thing you learned today about ICT in
education?"

IV. Assignment

 Research an ICT tool used in education and write a short reflection on how it can improve
