Application Materials
Application Materials
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Research Assistant position within the Shen
Research Group at NTU, Singapore. With a solid foundation in physics and materials science,
combined with my research experience in advanced materials and plasma-based systems, I am
eager to contribute to your groundbreaking work on channels, nanofluidics, and membrane
materials for sustainable technologies.
I hold a master’s degree in Applied Physics and working as a Research Assistant at the Laser and
Optronic Center, University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore. My research focuses
on the design and fabrication of plasma setups for material modification, with particular
emphasis on the interaction between plasma and materials for catalytic and energy
applications. My experience has allowed me to publish two research papers, including one on
the plasma-assisted growth of 2D hexagonal boron nitride nanosheets. These efforts
demonstrate my ability to work at the intersection of materials science, energy-efficient
processes, and sustainability, which aligns closely with the Shen Research Group’s objectives.
Your focus on developing advanced channel materials for energy-efficient separation, ionic
sieving, and clean water production deeply resonates with my interests in exploring innovative
solutions to global challenges. I am particularly intrigued by your vision of leveraging channels
and membranes as versatile platforms for interdisciplinary innovations in catalysis, batteries,
and bioelectronics. My experience with plasma-based fabrication and material characterization
techniques will be valuable in contributing to your ongoing and future projects.
Best regards,
Muhammad Mudassar
