Function

This command is used to set the default control policy of whether to allow the user-side DHCP packet of
the service port to carry the option 82 information. The configured value will be used as the default control
policy of new traffic streams. Generally, in the same network scenario, the policy of whether to enable the
user-side DHCP packet to carry the option 82 information is the same. In the hybrid network scenario, run
this command to set the control policy that can be used for most scenario to reduce the setting times and
complexity.

Usage Guidelines

• The successful execution of the default-policy service-port command takes effect only for newly
created service ports instead of existing service ports.

• After the successful execution of the default-policy service-port command, you can run the display
default-policy command to query the configuration.

• By default, the user-side DHCP packets do not carry the option 82 information.

• This command is used to set the default control policy of whether user-side DHCP packets carry
option 82 information for all service ports. To configured such a control policy for a single service port,
run the dhcp-option82 permit-forwarding service-port(profile-mode) command.

• Run the dhcp option82(profile-mode) or dhcp option82(distributing-mode) command to enable DHCP

option 82 globally or in the VLAN service profile mode, run the dhcp-option82 permit-forwarding
service-port(distributing-mode) or dhcp-option82 permit-forwarding service-port(profile-mode)

1.1.1.2 dhcp option82(profile-mode)

Function

This command is used to enable or disable the DHCP option82 feature. The DHCP feature does not have
any mechanism for authentication or security. Thus, the DHCP feature encounters many security problems
when it is used in the network. To solve these problems, the DHCP option82 is introduced. After the DHCP
option82 feature is enabled, the BRAS can authenticate IDs of access users. After the DHCP option82
feature is disabled, the device does not process packets.

Disabling the DHCP Option82 feature will cause security risks. You are advised to enable it.

Format

In global config mode:

Usage Guidelines

The DHCP option82 can be configured at three levels: global level, port level, and VLAN level (configured
in VLAN service profile).

• In global config mode, run the vlan service-profile command to enter the VLAN service-profile mode.

• By default, the DHCP option82 at the global level is disabled, and the DHCP option82 at the port level
and VLAN level is enabled.

• To enable or disable a port, or enable the DHCP option82 transparent transmission feature for a port
on a board, ensure that the board is not a control board and is in the normal or offline state.

• The network-side and user-side DHCP packet processing policy depends on whether DHCP option82 is
enabled and whether the user-side DHCP packets are allowed to carry the option82 information on a
service port.

• The enabling status of DHCP option82 depends on the status with the highest priority. Priorities of all
levels of DHCP option82 are as follows: disable > rebuild > forward > enable. There are no priorities
between global configuration and port-based configuration of DHCP option82. When DHCP option82
is disabled for a port whereas it is enabled both globally and for the service flow, DHCP option82 is
disabled.

• Run the dhcp-option82 permit-forwarding service-port command to set whether user-side DHCP
packets are allowed to carry the option82 information on a service port. The policy of user-side DHCP

Principle for DHCP option82 based on Layer2 mode: In Layer2 mode, by default, the DHCP option82
feature of the device is disabled. In this case, the device does not capture DHCP packets. All DHCP packets
are broadcast or unicast freely in the VLAN and the interaction between the client and server is free from
any interference. If the DHCP option82 feature is enabled in Layer2 mode, related stream rules for
capturing DHCP packets will be added to each board and the LAN switch.
Principle for DHCP option82 based on Layer3 mode: Its principle is the same as that of the DHCP option82
feature in Layer2 mode. The device adds the extra option82 field to the packet when forwarding the
packet.

Example

To enable the DHCP option82 feature in global config mode, do as follows:

huawei(config)#dhcp option82 enable

Several minutes may be required and no action can be taken during this period
Are you sure to perform this operation? (y/n)[n]:y

To disable the DHCP option82 feature in global config mode on a trusted network, do as follows:

huawei(config)#dhcp option82 disable

Several minutes may be required and no action can be taken during this period
Are you sure to perform this operation? (y/n)[n]:y

To enable the DHCP option82 feature in VLAN service-profile mode, do as follows:

maximum length of a DHCP packet, the Option82 field is not added to the packet. The device
transparently transmits the packet.

• The length of the MAC header is not calculated in the packet length because the device strips off the
MAC header when forwarding the DHCP packet.

Usage Guidelines

• In the global config mode, run the raio-profile command to enter the RAIO profile mode.

• If the RAIO profile is bound to a VLAN, the user-defined RAIO format takes effect in the RAIO profile
mode. Otherwise, the user-defined RAIO format takes effect in the global config mode.

• You can set the RAIO format for PITP P mode, PITP V mode, DHCP option 82, DHCPv6 option, ANCP
and RADIUS NAS-Port-Id. Such a format takes effect only after you run the raio-mode command to
set the working mode to user-defined.

• If you do not specify the working object, the setting takes effect on PITP P mode, DHCP option 82,
DHCPv6 option and ANCP.

• If the access mode is not specified and the format character string does not contain any keyword that
depends on the access mode, this command takes effect for all access modes. GPON boards use the
xPON access.

• If the raio-mode is set to cntel-xpon, the accesstype field carries EP, GP, XG, and XE.

• When you run the undo raio-format command, the CID and RID will be deleted if they are not
specified.

• If the CID is not defined when you set the RAIO format for PITP Pmode, DHCP option 82, DHCPv6
option and ANCP, no RAIO information is added to the packet. If RID does not exist, DHCPv6 option
37 does not carry the enterprise number.

• If a user-defined character string is in double quotation marks (""), the outermost double quotation
marks ("") are removed when the character string is issued.

The following table lists the RAIO keywords defined in the system.

• Whether Configurable Length: Indicates whether the length of the keyword value is configurable.
• Maximum Length: Indicates the maximum length of the keyword value.

• When the length of the actual keyword value is shorter than the specified length, you can perform
either of the following:

• Prefix the keyword value with 0s. The syntax is that if the keyword is 0m, m is the number of
characters that the keyword value contains. For example, slot03 indicates that the slot field
contains 3 characters. If the slot field has fewer than 3 characters, prefix the value with 0s. If the
slot number is 2, the system displays 002. The value of m cannot be larger than the maximum
length; otherwise, the system displays the actual value of the keyword.

• Prefix the keyword value with spaces. The syntax is that if the keyword is m, m is the number of
characters that the keyword value contains. For example, slot3 indicates that the slot field

• For Access-Aggregation-Circuit-ID-Binary TLV, only the following three customized character string
formats are supported: innervlanid.outervlanid, [innervlanid.]outervlanid, and outervlanid. If other
formats are customized, parsing of Access-Aggregation-Circuit-ID-Binary TLV may fail. Besides
separators mentioned in the three formats, other RAIO separators can also be used for Access-
Aggregation-Circuit-ID-Binary TLV. The configuration of separators, customized length, and plain text
(excluding plain text in hexadecimal notation) do not take effect for Access-Aggregation-Circuit-ID-
Binary TLV. Pay attention to key words, sequences between key words, and optional characters.

• The tag information carried in an Access-Aggregation-Circuit-ID-Binary TLV packet contains 4 or 8

bytes.

Example

1.1.2.17 raio-mode

Function

This command is used to configure the relay agent info option (RAIO) working mode. Different carriers
may use different RAIO modes. To distinguish different modes, run this command to configure the RAIO
working mode before enabling the DHCP Option 82, PITP tag, and ANCP functions. After the configuration
is successful, the device reports the user port information in the configured working mode.

Format

raio-mode { bbf | brt | cntel-xpon | cntel | common | dslforum-default | ft | neuf | port-userlabel | service-
port-userlabel | ti | tm | user-defined | vnpt } [ ancp | pitp-pmode | pitp-vmode | dhcp-option82 | dhcpv6-
option | radius-nas-port-id ]

The ancp parameter is only supported in the global config mode.

Parameters

Parameter Description

bbf Indicates the BBF mode. CID and RID formats are as follows:
ETH:
CID: anid eth slot/port[:vlanid]
RID: null
xPON:

2023-12-24 79
MA5800 Product Documentation

Parameter Description

User assess in the ATM mode. CID: anid atm slot/port/onuid/slot/port:vpi.vci

User assess in the ETH mode. CID: anid eth slot/port/onuid/slot/port[:vlanid]
RID: ontlabel

NOTE:

The ANIT here refers to the ANID of the OLT. In the BBF mode, no space is allowed in the ANID. If
the user packet carries user VLAN, the VLAN ID is user VLAN ID. Otherwise, the VLAN ID is left
empty.

bbf is used with the rebuild mode in different ways for different scenarios as follows:
In the DHCP DSLAM scenario, the rebuild mode is usually not used. When the rebuild mode is
used, the tag packet is rebuilt in the ETH mode based on the user access type.
In the DHCP FTTx scenario, when the rebuild mode is used, the tag packet is rebuilt in the xPON
mode.
In the DHCP FTTx scenario, when the rebuild mode is not used, the tag packet is rebuilt in the
ETH mode.
In the DHCPv6 scenario, the tag packet is rebuilt in the xPON mode.

brt Indicates the brt mode. The RID is null. The CID format is as follows:
ETH port: anid.slot.port
xPON port: anid xpon frame/slot/subslot/port:ontid.gemport.vlanid

cntel-xpon Indicates the CNTEL-XPON mode. The RID is null. The format is as follows:
ETH port: bporttype bslot/bsubslot/bport:xpi.xci anid/rack/frame/slot/subslot/port:axpi.axci
xPON port (FTTH): bporttype bslot/bsubslot/bport:svlanid.cvlanid
anid/rack/frame/slot/subslot/port/onuid accesstype
xPON port (FTTB): bporttype bslot/bsubslot/bport:svlanid.cvlanid
anid/rack/frame/slot/subslot/port/onuid
onuslot/onusubslot/onuportid:onuporttype/portxpi.portxci accesstype

NOTE:
For an Ethernet port, the value to be filled in "bporttype bslot/bsubslot/bport:xpi.xci" is determined
by the attribute of a network-side VLAN. The OLT fills in "anid/rack/frame/slot/subslot/port:axpi.axci"
with an actual value.
For an xPON port on an FTTH network, the BRAS or SR fills in "bporttype
bslot/bsubslot/bport:svlanid.cvlanid" with an actual value. When adding a tag, the OLT fills in
"bporttype bslot/bsubslot/bport:svlanid.cvlanid" with 0 and "anid/rack/frame/slot/subslot/port/onuid"
and "accesstype" with actual values.
For an xPON port on an FTTB network, the BRAS or SR fills in "bporttype
bslot/bsubslot/bport:svlanid.cvlanid" with an actual value. The MxU fills in
"onuslot/onusubslot/onuportid:onuporttype/portxpi.portxci" with an actual value (if the MxU does
not comply with the cntel-xpon mode to fill in the character strings, the OLT directly copies the
character strings that the MxU fills in). When adding a tag, the OLT uses the value of
"onuslot/onusubslot/onuportid:onuporttype/portxpi.portxci" set by the MxU to fill in "bporttype
bslot/bsubslot/bport:svlanid.cvlanid". The OLT fills in "anid/rack/frame/slot/subslot/port/onuid" and
"accesstype" with actual values.

cntel Indicates the CNTEL mode. The RID is null. The format is as follows:

Parameter Description

radius-nas- Specifies the RADIUS NAS-Port-Id as the working object.

port-id

Modes

Global config mode, RAIO profile mode

Level

Operator level

Usage Guidelines

• In the global config mode, run the raio-profile command to enter the RAIO profile mode.

• If the RAIO profile is bound to a VLAN, the working mode takes effect in the RAIO profile mode.
Otherwise, the working mode takes effect in the global config mode.

• The ANCP working object cannot be configured in the current RAIO profile mode. If the RAIO profile is
bound to a VLAN, the ANCP working object uses the configuration of the global config mode.

• The working mode of the RAIO working object is controlled at the VLAN level and the global level.
The working mode takes effect only when it is enabled at both levels.

• By default, the mode of the ANCP working object is dslforum-default, and the mode of other working
objects is common.

• RAIO (relay agent information option) mainly includes the DHCP option 82, DHCPv6 option, ANCP
and PITP tag and RADIUS NAS-Port-Id. Because these Options have no standard definition, different
carriers may use different formats. To process different formats correctly, you must configure the
RAIO mode properly before enabling the DHCP option 82, DHCPv6 option, ANCP and PITP tag and
RADIUS NAS-Port-Id functions.

• You can set the RAIO working mode for PITP P mode, PITP V mode, DHCP option 82 , DHCPv6 option,
and ANCP or RADIUS NAS-Port-Id separately. If you do not specify the working object, the RAIO
working mode is set for all working objects.

• The RAIO working mode of PITP V mode can only be common, cntel, true, or user-defined. If you do
not specify the working object, the current working mode of PITP V mode changes to the common
mode (default mode) when you set the working mode to another mode. If you specify the PITP V
mode as the working object, the input working mode must be common, cntel, true, or user-defined.

• The DHCP option 82, DHCPv6 option, or PITP tag carried in the upstream packet varies with the RAIO
working mode. The device adds the corresponding user ID to the packets and then transmits the port
information about the access user to the BRAS. For example, the device adds the user information to
the Discovery and Request packets in the case of DHCP option 82, and adds the user information to
the PADI and PADR packets in the case of the PITP Tag.

Example

To set the RAIO working mode of global DHCP option 82 as the user-defined mode, do as follows:

huawei(config)#raio-mode user-defined dhcp-option82

1.1.2.18 raio-profile

Function

The raio-profile command is used to create a RAIO profile or enter the RAIO service profile. When the
profile does not exist, running this command means to create a RAIO profile and enter the configuration
mode of the profile. When the profile already exists, running this command means to directly enter the
configuration mode of this profile. You can run the vlan bind raio-profile command to bind the RAIO
profile to a VLAN to simplify the configuration procedure.
The undo raio-profile command is used to delete a RAIO profile. The RAIO profile that is already bound to
a VLAN cannot be deleted.

Format

raio-profile { index index | name name }*

undo raio-profile { index index | name name }

Parameters

Parameter Description Value

index Indicates the ID of the Numeral type. Range:1-64.

index RAIO profile.

name Indicates the name of the Character string type, a string of 1-32 characters.

Usage Guidelines

• When you create an RAIO profile, default values for the parameters in the profile are the same as
their default values in global config mode. Run the display raio-profile command to query the
information about an RAIO profile.

• Parameters in an RAIO profile are independent of RAIO parameters in global config mode. If a VLAN
is bound to an RAIO profile, the parameters in the profile take effect. Otherwise, the RAIO parameters
in global config mode take effect.

• The RAIO profile that is referenced cannot be deleted. Run the undo vlan bind raio-profile command
to unbind the profile from a VLAN, and then delete the profile.

• The RAIO profile that is referenced can be modified. Modified parameters take effect immediately
after being modified.

Example

Assume that the profile features are as follows:

• ANID: iptv-10.10.10.10

• ANIP: meth 0

• Sub option 0x81 of DHCP option82: enable

• DHCP-option 82 working mode: common

To add RAIO profile 3 and bind the profile to VLAN 100, do as follows:

huawei(config)#raio-profile
{ index<K>|name<K> }:index
{ index<U><1,64> }:3
{ <cr>|name<K> }:

Command:
raio-profile index 3
huawei(config-raio-profile-3)#raio-anid iptv-10.10.10.10
huawei(config-raio-profile-3)#raio-anip interface meth 0
huawei(config-raio-profile-3)#raio sub-option 0x81 dhcp-option82 enable
huawei(config-raio-profile-3)#raio-mode common dhcp-option82
huawei(config-raio-profile-3)#quit
huawei(config)#vlan bind raio-profile 100 index 3

To unbind RAIO profile 3 from VLAN 100 and then delete RAIO profile 3, do as follows:

2023-12-24 85

MA5800 Product Documentation

The vlan bind raio-profile command is used to bind a VLAN to a RAIO profile. After a VLAN is bound to a
RAIO profile, the feature RAIO formats of the VLAN are determined by the configuration of the RAIO
profile, and RAIO parameter commands in the global config mode do not take effect.
The undo vlan bind raio-profile command is used to unbind a VLAN from a RAIO profile. After a VLAN is
unbound from a RAIO profile, the feature RAIO formats of the VLAN are determined by the RAIO
parameters in the global config mode.

Format

vlan bind raio-profile { vlan-list | vlan-name vlan-name } { index index | name name }
undo vlan bind raio-profile { vlan-list | vlan-name vlan-name }

Parameters

Parameter Description Value

vlan-list Indicates the VLAN list to which the RAIO profile is bound. Character string type, a string of
Comma (,) and hyphen (-) are supported, but space is not 1-255 characters.
