Our group has 11 members, they are....

CURRENT Situation:
***-Vietnam's cultural heritage, shaped over 4,000 years, includes eight UNESCO World
Heritage sites, such as Ha Long Bay and Hoi An Ancient Town, and over 70,000 intangible
cultural elements, including court music and folk songs.( được hình thành qua hơn 4.000 năm, bao
gồm tám di sản thế giới được UNESCO công nhận, như Vịnh Hạ Long và Phố Cổ Hội An, cùng hơn 70.000
yếu tố văn hóa phi vật thể, bao gồm nhã nhạc cung đình và các làn điệu dân ca.)
-The Vietnamese government has invested in preservation and restoration, with support from the
US Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Heritage Preservation (AFCP)( Quỹ Bảo tồn Di sản Văn hóa
của Đại sứ Hoa Kỳ (AFCP)) over the past 20 years. This has led to the restoration of 16 museums,
monuments,(ditich) and cultural institutions( co so van hóa), preserving 5 relics, 2 intangible
cultural heritages, and hundreds of artifacts(hiện vật) and artworks.(tác phẩm nghệ thuật)
*****-However, challenges such as rapid urbanization(đô thị hóa nhanh chóng) and unregulated
development(phát triển thiếu kiểm soát) threaten sites like Ha Long Bay. UNESCO has raised
concerns about potential risks to heritage integrity.( ày tỏ lo ngại về các nguy cơ tiềm ẩn đối với tính
toàn vẹn của các di sản.)

Hoi An Acient town:
********-Hoi An is an ancient town located in Quang Nam Province, Central Vietnam
let’s watch a video to understand it better
\-Lanterns are a common product of traditional craft villages throughout Vietnam, especially in
Hoi An. Hoi An lanterns can be found in restaurants, festivals, and homes, mainly during the
traditional Tet Holiday or Mid-Autumn Festival. Hoi An lanterns symbolize "shining." Quang
Nam’s people consider light as a symbol of humans. Therefore, offering lanterns at a shrine also
means praying for the gods' protection.( Đèn lồng Hội An tượng trưng cho sự "tỏa sáng". Người dân
Quảng Nam coi ánh sáng như biểu tượng của con người. Do đó, việc dâng đèn lồng tại điện thờ cũng
mang ý nghĩa cầu xin sự bảo vệ của thần linh.)
*********-Hoi An is a tangible cultural heritage of Viet Nam. It was recognized as a
UNESCO world cultural heritage site on December 4, 1999.

learn about THE IMPORTANCE OF HOI AN:
-Historical and cultural value: Hoi An serves as a vivid testament to a bustling trading port
from the 15th to the 19th century, where cultures from Vietnam, Japan, China, and Europe
converged.
******-Tourism and economy: Hoi An is one of Vietnam's top tourist destinations, attracting
millions of visitors each year.
-National cultural symbol: Hoi An is associated with traditional festivals such as the Mid-
Autumn Festival, lantern festivals, and folk arts, which help preserve the cultural identity of
Vietnam.

finally we concluded that ways to preserve include:
-Develop eco-friendly and culturally sensitive tourism programs.
-Promote education programs to raise awareness about the importance of cultural heritage
-Enforce penalties for illegal activities, such as looting or unauthorized construction.
