    Nicosia - Larnaca Airport Shuttle Bus


    No more expensive taxis (currently costing 40 to 50 each way)! Under pressure from the EU to improve public transport, as of July 2008, there is now an hourly shuttle bus from Larnaca Airport to Nicosia (terminates at the School of Catering, not far from the Hotel Hilton). The first bus leaves the airport at 05:30 and runs until 01:00. For the return journey, the first bus leaves Nicosia at 05:00 and continues to 23:00. A one-way ticket costs 5.     II. The Green Bus Company


    run quite frequent buses during the daytime (but not in the evening) between Larnaca and Nicosia, the trip takes about one hour. The first bus leaves Larnaca (the seaside promenade) at 06.15, and the last bus leaves Nicosia at 17.45. The company's telephone number is 24643492 or 24 722 700.     Location: 5 km/3 Miles SW of Larnaka City, 53 km/33 miles SE of Nicosia. Airport Overview: The new terminal has now opened. All flights now operate from this larger terminal. Ry Road: To Larnaka 5 km/3 Miles, Nicosia/Lefkosia 49 km/31 Miles, Limassol/Lemesos 70 km/44 Miles, Agia Napa 46 km/29 Miles & Paphos/Pafos 139 km/89 Miles. By Taxi: Readily avauilable outside the terminal. To Larnaca 8-15, takes 5-15 mins, Ayia Napa ~30/30 mins, Limassol/Lemessos 38-42/40 mins, Nicosia 28-38/50 mins, Pafos 6575/over 1 hour, Protaras 28-38, Troodos 55-66. Higher prices apply 2030-0600. By Bus: Buses depart from the airport bus stop. The main Tourist office is less than 5 minutes walk from this stop (ask the driver for directions). Timings: Buses leave the Airport at 0755, 0855, 0955, 1155, 1255, 1555 & 1655. The last bus on Saturday is at 1255. Cost: The fare to Larnaca is 1.20 & tickets are purchased on the bus, from the driver. Intercity buses connect the airport with all major towns & cities in Cyprus & depart from the airport bus stop.     On Saturdays, all buses depart once only at 1330 except for Ayia Napa. On Sundays there is NO service.

    Island-wide Shared Service Taxis


    If you are based in Nicosia then you can catch a service taxi which are shared to other towns. You have to call them in advance to book and they will pick you from wherever you are. Intercity taxi service is offered in shared 4- to 8-seater minibuses. This service provides a connection service between all major towns at a fixed rate. The taxis do not operate between smaller towns and villages. These taxis can either be boarded from the service taxi office in town or another pick-up location. Reservations are necessary. Passengers may be dropped off anywhere in the destination municipal zone. Payment is made to the driver. The service runs every half hour Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 18:00 and on Saturdays and Sundays from 07:00 to 17:00. No service is available on public holidays.
