Formulation and Evaluation of Polyherbal Sunscreen Cream

The study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of a polyherbal sunscreen cream using ingredients like aloe vera, coconut oil, and vitamin E to provide UV protection. The research compares three formulations, with the coconut oil-based sunscreen (F1) demonstrating the highest SPF value of 12.13 and better stability compared to the others. The findings suggest that herbal sunscreens are safer and more effective alternatives to synthetic options, potentially reducing the risk of skin damage from UV exposure.

determining the performance of herbal sunscreens.

As a result, the findings of this study can help
regulatory agencies, scientific organizations, and
manufacturers set standardized standards for
polyherbal sunscreens.
Few chemical sun screening agents such
as avobenzone, octocrylene, oxybenzone enter the
bloodstream within an hour after application on
skin. These chemicals may cause various harmful
effects in human. Thus it was concluded that herbal
sun screening agent is more advantageous than
chemicals because ofits minor side effects.
