Arguments for Jesus:

1.1 There existed a historical Jesus in some form. (The historical evidence is over-
helming and to deny his existence in any form is akin to denying the existence of
Alexander or Ceasar.)
1.2 This Jesus was not just a "good moral teacher"
- claimed to be able to forgive sins
- claimed to have supreme judgement over others
- claimed to have supreme authority over others
- claimed to return after death
1.3 Jesus was either a liar, a lunatic or the Lord.
1.3 A Jesus was a liar:
- According to human nature we only lie if we think to gain from it. Jesus was mar-
tyred for his "lies" and never dropped the act. Additionally he kept all his "lies"
straight over the course of his life.
1.3 B Jesus was a lunatic
- If Jesus was a lunatic why was he able to argue with the pharisses in the temple so
well. Why are his words so consistent? Why was he able to amass so many fallow-
ers? Why didn't the Romans pronounce him a lunatic?
1.4 Jesus is who he claims to be.

Everything that is not encompassed in the liar, lunatic, lord-trilema just shifts the
same arguments on the apostles.
Instead of one liar, twelve existed who were all martyred for a lie they had no rea-
son to keep.
Instead of one lunatic, twelve existed that suffered from the same mass dillusion
and kept the story straight for the rest of their lives.
Since the Arguments for God created the possibility of a metaphysical realm, Jesus
being Lord is not an impossible explanation.
If Jesus didn’t rise from the dead, the foundation of the Christian faith would be de-
stroyed.

All historical accounts affirm he died. A spear was thrust in his side after crucifixion.
Pilate verified he died. During the lifetime of eyewitnesses no one disputed his
death.

What if the disciples faked the resurrection by stealing Jesus’ body? The location of
the tomb was well-known, a large stone was rolled in front with a Roman seal, a Ro-
man unit of 4 to 16 soldiers was guarding it, and the city was overflowing with
Passover pilgrims who would have been potential witnesses. One form of execution
if the guards failed their duty would have been to burn them alive in a fire started
with their garments. Given these facts, it is very unlikely that the disciples could
have stolen the body. Yet the tomb was found open and the body was gone. If any-
one had found his body, Christianity would've been stopped dead.

What if the disciples might have been so emotionally distraught that they halluci-
nated the resurrection? According to psychologist Thomas Thorburn, “It is abso-
lutely inconceivable that 500 persons of average soundness of mind should experi-
ence all kinds of sensuous impressions, and that all these experiences should rest
entirely upon hallucination.”

Is it just a legend? Legends are not supported by historical records and archaeology.
Legends do not develop while eyewitnesses are alive to refute them. The legend
theory does not explain the fervent conviction of the previously scared and broken
apostles, who had denied they knew Jesus, that Jesus was alive, nor their bold
preaching of this to the point of torture and death. The Talmud by Jesus' enemies
says he was a real person who was crucified for sorcery and apostasy. Virtually all
historians agree on the historicity of the man Jesus.

The argument I've seen made is that Christ was not divine but an exceedingly
clever charlatan, a trickster-scholar who was not only exceedingly versed in Old
Testament prophecy and based his entire life around "fulfilling them", but somehow
bamboozled people into believing he could perform miracles. The question to this
would be: why go through the effort to carry on this elaborate ruse? He didn't pur-
sue wealth, but chose to live as a humble servant, owning nothing. He didn't pursue
fame, instructing those he healed NOT to tell people who he was. Perhaps most im-
portantly though is that Jesus willingly allowed himself to be tortured and murdered
in a gruesome manner: no grifter, no matter how committed, dies for what they
know to be a lie.

If he's not a liar, then perhaps he was just crazy? Again, the argument has been
made. There are, however, several problems with this. One, Jesus's birth and min-
istry fulfilled over a thousand unique prophecies recorded over thousands of years,
far beyond what a mentally ill lunatic could catalog and fulfill. But let's say, for sake
or argument, that he was crazy: this does nothing to explain the thousands who wit-
nessed the Resurrection. These early believers were so convinced by what they had
seen that they dedicated the rest of their lives, facing exile, persecution, imprison-
ment, torture, and death proclaiming what they that Christ was Lord. Nobody will-
ingly dies for a lie.

Logically, having disproven the other two options, final option we are left with is
that Jesus Christ was indeed God in flesh as he claimed to be, born, crucified, and
risen according to the prophecies for the redemption of Mankind.

The role of Paul:
Occasionally there is someone that says that Paul is just a Pharisee who is out to
subvert Christianity and scam the Christian, who added to the bible and subverted
Christs meaning. However I see there something different though.
So, who was Paul? Paul was a Pharisee, one of the biggest and vile opposition that
Jesus had. He is known to have hunt christians down, and sentence them to death.
He did continue to do so untile he received a revelation and joined became an Apos-
tle of Jesus. Now this revelataion is claimed to have been a lie to reasonably explain
the conversion and infiltrate the christians and subvert them, however it the voice
was heard by others around Paul too and if nothing else the other followers of Jesus
just accepting his explanation at the very least comfirms that they themselves be-
lieved in their story that they preach about Jesus or they would never have believed
Pauls Vision. Also we shall recognize them by the fruit, so what did Paul do specifi-
cally?

Paul approached the teachings of Christ from a legalistic standpoint much in the
manner of a Pharisee. Where the Pharisee were obsessed with the written word, and
interpret it with loopholes, grey areas, semantics, pilpul etc. to twist the law around
as you want, much like a lawyer interprets the law in court.
Now however, instead of twisting the law around and attack Jesus, he used it to lay
out how the teachings of Jesus are in line with the law. He made a legalistic case for
Jesus in the manner of the Pharisee, to defend him from the phariseeic attacks. He
didnt change or add to it, rather expanded on the teachings to show that they are in
line with the law.
Now People like to bring up that Paul would argue that he abolished the law and
calls for multicultural approaches and the like. The verse that usualy is brought up

alleging that this nullifies differences between these. They fail to see that this is
refering to Salvation, meaning that everyone, regardles of ethnicity, gender, class

the scripture. How can I say that? Here is another bit from Paul

Paul argues that we are no longer under the law as Jesus paid for our transgras-
sions, as such there is no punishment for the sinning. He refutes however the men-
tality that argues that we are now free to sin, as there is no punishment. The law is
good, and if we love God, and our neighbor, our enemy and everyone, we should
produce, and now are meant to do good and obey the law out of love for life instead
fear of death.
In the beginning God created everything by creating polar opposites. In math it
would be that he made out of 0, +1 and -1 which together are still 0, but now are
