Managing Files and Folders
- Files: A file is like a digital document where you store information (e.g., a Word document, an
image, or a video).
- Folders: A folder helps you organize files into groups (e.g., a folder for school projects, a folder
for pictures).
1. Open the Program: Open the program where you want to create the file (e.g., Microsoft Word
for a document).
2. Create New: Click on "File" in the menu, then select "New" or "New Document."
3. Save the File: After creating your file, click "Save As," choose a location, type a name for
your file, and click "Save."
1. Go to the Location: Open the storage device or location where you want the folder (e.g.,
Desktop, Documents).
Right-click on the empty space, and select "New," then choose "Folder."
3. Name the Folder: Type a name for your folder and press `Enter`.
How to Rename:
1. Select the Item: Click once on the file or folder to select it.

How to Delete:
1. Select the Item: Click once on the file or folder you want to delete.
3. Confirm Deletion: On Windows, the item goes to the Recycle Bin. You can empty the Recycle
Bin or Trash to permanently delete it.
How to Arrange:
1. Open the Location: Go to the folder where your files and folders are located.
Click on "View" in the menu and select how you want to arrange (e.g., by Name, Date, Type).
3. Drag and Drop: You can also click and drag files and folders to arrange them manually.
Tips:
- Organize Regularly: Keep your files and folders organized to make it easier to find things.
- Use Descriptive Names: Name files and folders clearly so you know what's inside without
opening them.
