Job Summary and Scope of Responsibilities

MAJOR FUNCTIONS
• Comprehensive Brownfield gas plant facilities portfolio management throughout the inception, proposal,
budgeting, contracting, execution, commissioning and handover to Operations of different small to medium
size projects for upgrades, enhancements, debottlenecking and general improvements at Khor Mor gas
plant and related facilities.
• Ensure design, construction techniques, and maintenance plan of mechanical, piping, structures, roads,
bridges, drill-sites, pipeline rights-of-way, and water systems are sufficient to fulfil their specific purpose,
following company specifications and applicable standards to ensure efficient and fit-for-purpose life cycle.
• Develop technical standards for mechanical, piping, civil, structures, which are applicable to Khor Mor and
complimentary to other discipline standards.
• Prepare technical specifications, Scopes of Work, Technical Bid Evaluations, MTOs.
• Preparation (or coordination of preparation) of detail engineering for construction including structural,
mechanical, piping, calculation records, design & construction specifications, construction drawings, Bill of
materials, Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Scope of Works for Contractors, etc.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Coordinating multidisciplinary team and contractors to deliver project portfolio of small and medium size
projects for plan improvements and related facilities.
• Coordinate/review/recommend technical and feasibility studies and site investigations.
• Review for approval of mechanical, piping, structural and civil documents.
• Provide engineering input into scope for shutdowns/turnarounds.
• Develop, improve and optimise existing systems, standards and procedures.
• Identify and mitigate risks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Participate in HAZOPs, Taks Risk Assessments and other risk-assessment activities.
• Assist with planning and supervision of emergency and scheduled repair work programs.
• Ensure safe working procedures are prepared and updated, and regulations are understood.
• Participate in safety meetings, audits and action audit recommendations in a timely fashion.
• Participate in the development of incident investigation reports as required.
• Identification of potential hazards and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Mentor less experienced engineers.
• Spread culture of safety consciousness and technical excellence through example, best practices and quality
documentation preparation.
• Preparation of basic cost estimates for new projects.

REPORTING AND COMMUNICATION

• Reports to the Engineering Manager
 •
Exhibits and maintains excellent working relationships with all Engineering Department and CreDan staff
in general
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT OF POSITION
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and identify opportunities to improve assurance and
productivity and reduce cost.
Decision–making Authority
• Authority to commence, manage, and control technical reviews and ITTs
• Authority to recommend related expenditures to Engineering Manager
• Authority to recommend project execution strategies and contracting methods.
Working and Other Reporting Relationships
• Engineering Manager – Direct Supervisor (Head of Department)
• Discipline Engineers – effective working relationships
• Operations/Maintenance – supports on technical issues relating to Civil Engineering. Liaison for projects
handover and documentation.
• Coordination of project-related activities with Sharjah Engineering group
Supervisory Responsibility
• Kurdish National engineers in a mentoring/supervisory capacity.
• CAD Design Engineers
• Contract and Contractor’s engineers/inspectors on an as-needed basis.
Minimum Educational, Technical Qualifications/Certifications Required
• BSc Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.

Minimum Professional Experience Required

• 10 years’ experience in refineries, petroleum production, or other industrial sites in project execution
department, engineering department, commissioning or similar/equivalent background.
Special Requirements and Conditions
• Excellent interpersonal skills, works well with others, courteous and understanding of other cultures.
• Understanding of MENA multicultural working environment.
• Prepared to work rotation on site in Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
