Title: Echoes of The Forgotten World: Starfire
Title: Echoes of The Forgotten World: Starfire
The year was 2147. The vast, endless void of space had become humanity’s second home.
Colonies thrived on Mars, Titan, and Europa, but the real frontier lay beyond—deep in the
unexplored corners of the galaxy. That was where the crew of the Starfire found themselves,
stationed near the enigmatic planet designated as Xyphon-12.
Commander Elias Carter paced the bridge of the Starfire, his fingers drumming anxiously
against the console. The crew had picked up an anomalous signal—a faint but structured
transmission pulsing from the planet’s surface. It was unlike anything in the known records
of the Galactic Federation.
“Captain,” came a voice from the comms station. It was Lieutenant Mira Solis, the ship’s
communications officer. “The signal’s pattern doesn’t match any known languages or
distress calls.”
Carter turned to his chief scientist, Dr. Ren Ito, who was studying the data. “Could this be
natural, or are we looking at an artificial origin?”
Dr. Ito adjusted his glasses, eyes locked onto the holographic display. “It’s artificial, no doubt.
But the structure is… unique. It doesn’t conform to any linguistic frameworks we’ve
encountered.”
The room was silent for a moment. Then Carter made his decision. “We’re going down.”
The dropship cut through the thick atmosphere of Xyphon-12, its hull glowing red from
friction. Below, the planet stretched in an endless expanse of jagged obsidian formations
and glowing bioluminescent flora.
Mira, Dr. Ito, and two security officers, Lieutenant Novak and Sergeant Lin, accompanied
Carter. As the ship touched down, a strange hum resonated through the air, vibrating
through their suits.
“What the hell is that?” Novak muttered, scanning the perimeter with his rifle.
Dr. Ito knelt and placed a scanner against the blackened ground. “The entire planet is
resonating at a low-frequency vibration. It’s like it’s… alive.”
Ahead, half-buried in the rock, was the source of the signal—an enormous, obsidian-like
structure, covered in glowing etchings. As they approached, the symbols pulsed, responding
to their presence.
Mira touched the surface, and in an instant, the world around them vanished.
“You have come far… but you are not the first.”
As their consciousness snapped back into reality, the structure before them began to open,
revealing a passage leading downward.
Their journey had just begun. And what they were about to discover would change the
course of humanity forever.
