Ensure that the materials (lighting fixtures & accessories)

installed are approved.
Verify that inspection for civil/architectural finishes works i.e.
2 final wall / ceiling painting, etc. has approval from the
Consultant.
Verify the exact type of installed lighting fixtures and location
3 if as per lighting fixtures schedule, reflected architectural
ceiling plan and approved lighting layout shop drawing.
Check lighting fixtures for proper installation, height,
levelness & alignment and if securely fixed on the wall /
4 ceiling as per approved lighting layout & installation detail
shop drawing, manufacturer's installation guidlines and
specification.
Check lighting support system for some lighting fixtures if
5 properly installed as per shop drawing installation details and
manufacturer's installation guidelines / recommendation.
Check if lighting fixtures are free from any obstruction i.e.
6
ductworks, pipes, trays, trunking, etc.
Check required clearance of lighting fixtures from other
7 services if as per as per lighting layout shop drawing,
reflected architectural ceiling plan and specification.
Verify the number of connected lighting points/fixtures in a
8 circuit if in accordance with Kahramaa, QCS and project
specification requirements.
Ensure that lighting fixtures non-current carrying metallic
9 parts are properly bonded & grounded to the power earthing
network system.
Check if the installed Lighting Fixtures are provided with
10 proper Identification Label as per approved labelling material,
lighting layout drawing and load / lighting schedule.
TERMINATION OF WIRES / CABLES AT LIGHTING

RESISTANCE TESTING
Verify Method Statement, Lighting Layout Shop Drawings &

Load Schedule are approved.
Ensure that continuity and insulation resistance testing of
13 wires/cables for lighting circuits are done and inspected with
approval from the Consultant prior termination.
Check Wires/Cables are properly dressed, terminated and
14 provided with suitable gland / lug as per approved labelling
material, load schedule and single line diagram.
Check for correct termination of wires/cables at the lighting
fixtures terminal. Ensure colour coding for terminated
15
wires/cables if as per specification requirements and load
schedule.
Check if Circuit Wiring/Cabling terminated at DB and Lighting
Fixtures are appropriately provided with approved
16
Identification Label as per approved load schedule, lighting
schedule, lighting layout plan and specification.
Ensure that the Phase Conductor / Power Supply Line (L)
17
should not be connected directly to the light fittings.
Make that the DB SLD is adhered to the DB doors by the
18
PDB LDB UPS distribution board.

Before laying of cables check the co-ordinated routing drgs with

1 other services for crossing/spacing with any other underground /
overhead service lines

2 Ensure that cable runs are truly horizontal, vertical or sloped with
proper spacing between cable to cable

3 Ensuring laying of Cables of correct size and specification as per

schedule

4 Check that there is no mechanical damage to insulation / armour /

core

5 Check cable Megger values (500V megger for 1.1 KV and

2500/5000V for higher valves)

6 Ensure that no sharp turns / bends are given in cable route

7 Check that Cable trays are properly supported at different locations

8 Check that there are no sharp edges on cable trays

9 Finalize Joint location (if allowed & provided) & ensure these are
strictly followed on site

10 Check for Painting of cable tray support (as per requirement)

11 Ensure that proper cable lugs / glands / shrouds of specified size

and make are used

12 Check that sufficient loops are kept at supply & feeder end

13 Ensure proper cable dressing with PVC tie or as per requirement.

14 Both end loop cable to be hanged or kept properly (if end

termination not done)

15 Ensure temporary tagging at both end after completion of cable

laying
