COURSE SYNOPSIS

 This course covers identification and analysis of problems related to process


integration and optimization for a typical chemical process.
 Topics include pinch analysis, heat recovery and exchange, data extraction
and energy targeting, utilities, heat and power system.
 It also covers the basic concept of process optimization which include classification
of optimization problems and models, mathematical modelling,
optimization techniques, as well as its applications in chemical engineering.
 This course also discusses design of specific chemical process by using
mathematical or simulator tools.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

 CLO1 : Evaluate the solution for the problems related to


process integration and optimization for a typical chemical
process.[C5]
 CLO2 : Develop mathematical tools to integrate or optimize
the specific part in chemical plant.[P5]
 CLO3 : Explain the technical components and the solution
related to process integration and optimization.[A4]
