STD VI - Robotics

Electronics & Controllers

Chapter 3A, B and 4A, B
1. Fill in the Blanks:

1. Electricity is the flow of electrical power.

2. The SI unit of electric current is the ampere.
3. The SI unit of resistance is Ohm.
4. The SI unit of capacitance is the Farad.
5. A Breadboard is used for building temporary
circuits.
6. Fuse is a safety device.
7. The power rails are on the left and right side of the
breadboard.
8. Ohm’s Law describes relation between Voltage,
Current & Resistance.
9. IC Stands for Integrated Circuit.
10. Memory is the Storage space.

II. Answer the Following:

1. What are conductors?
Conductors are those substances through which
electricity can flow. Some common conductors are
copper, aluminium, gold and silver.

2. What are Insulators?

Insulators are those substances through which
electricity cannot flow. Some common insulators
are glass, plastic, rubber and wood.

3. What is a Fuse?
A Fuse is a safety device in an electric circuit that
prevents short circuits.

4. What is a Breadboard?
A breadboard is a rectangular plastic board with a
bunch of tiny holes in it. It is board used to connect
electronic components such as wires, resistors,
capacitors and coils to conduct various projects.

5. What is a Controller?
A Controller is a hardware device or a software
program that manages or directs the flow of data
between two entities.

6. What are Resistors?

A Resistor is an electrical component that limits or
regulates the flow of electrical current in an
electronic circuit.

7. What is a Microcontroller?
A Microcontroller is a compact integrated circuit
designed to operate a specific operation in an
embedded system.

8. What does a Microcontroller contain?

A typical microcontroller includes A Processor,
Memory and Input/ Output signals.

III. Match the following:

1. Resistors Controls the flow of

electricity
2. Capacitors stores electrical energy
3. Breadboard board to connect
connections
4. LED Light emitting Diode
5. Jumper Wires Special Connecting wires

IV. True Or False :

1. An Electrical circuit is a path for transmitting

electric current. (True)
2. Conductors are those substances through
which electricity cannot flow. (False)
3. Few Electronic components are Fuse,
Resistors, Switches, Capacitors, Batteries, etc
(True)
4. A Breadboard is used for building permanent
circuits. (False)
5. The Digital pins have the value HIGH or LOW.
The pins are numbered from D0-D13 are
Digital Pins. (True)

Pattern for the Question Paper are as

Follows:

 Fill in the Blanks (5 marks)

 True or False (5 marks)
 Match the Following (5 marks)
