Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Definition:

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science

focused on creating machines that can simulate human
intelligence. It enables systems to perform tasks such as
learning, reasoning, problem-solving, perception, and
language understanding.

Types of AI:

1. Narrow AI (Weak AI): AI designed for specific tasks, such

as voice assistants (Siri, Alexa) and recommendation
algorithms (Netflix, YouTube).
2. General AI (Strong AI): A theoretical AI capable of
human-like reasoning and decision-making across
different domains.
3. Super AI: A future AI that could surpass human
intelligence, raising ethical concerns about control and
safety.

Applications of AI:

 Healthcare: AI is used in medical imaging, disease

diagnosis, and robotic surgery.
 Finance: Fraud detection, stock market predictions, and
automated trading.
 Autonomous Vehicles: AI-driven cars improve road
safety and traffic efficiency.
 Customer Service: Chatbots and virtual assistants
provide instant support.
Challenges of AI:

 Ethical Issues: AI biases, privacy concerns, and job

displacement.
 Security Risks: AI can be exploited for cyberattacks and
misinformation.
 Regulation & Control: Governments are still figuring out
how to regulate AI responsibly.

Future of AI:

 More human-like interactions through advanced

natural language processing.
 AI in scientific research for drug discovery and climate
modeling.
 Ethical AI development to ensure fairness, transparency, and security.
