Cartouches
A cartouche is an oval frame containing a collection of symbols separated
from other individual symbols. Cartouches are used to indicate places or
concepts by combining multiple symbols, allowing the small number of
symbols to represent many things without each needing its own symbol. For
example, the symbolic name for the Fun House is made up from the symbols
Heckna he, Rest re, and Danger d within a cartouche. Additional symbols
outside the cartouche can add more information or be later additions or
corrections. The symbols on the door to the Boring Room denote that this
door can be used with keys to enter the Fun House and consist of Entry

providing the meaning ‘Entry with Keys to the Fun House’.

CARTOUCHES
Several areas have set cartouches denoting their names. More symbols and cartouches can be found in the Jamboree than the Dismaydium, as it’s easier
to access, and Heckna’s ability to keep revelers out of the Dismaydium makes it more difficult for the average reveler to leave a symbol there. Below is a list of
places where a cartouche can be found. The Toymaker uses these to remind and warn their allies of what can be found inside these locations, and they are not
just a symbol for the location itself.
