This guide is for PC and Windows only.

You need to install iTunes from Apple, the Microsoft Store version doesn’t work. Follow
this link for the latest version. https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/win64​

You need to install iCloud from Apple, the Microsoft Store version doesn’t work. Follow
this link for a compatible version.

You need to use a personal Apple ID. Family ID’s don’t work. You can create a
throwaway account at https://appleid.apple.com/. This is recommended because some
users have reported illegitimate logins when using their main accounts.​

The cable you're using must support Data Transfer. If you have an official Apple Cable,
use that.​
​
There are reports of AltServer breaking when handling non-romanized letters. To
circumvent, create a new user on your PC and only use letters between A-Z in the
username.​

If you want to verify that the installers are the correct versions. These are the SHA256
hashes. If you don’t want to, then just go to the next step.​

Go to altstore.io and click the Windows (beta) button to download the installer.​
Extract the Installer to a new folder and open “setup.exe”​

If you made a new PC account because your old one didn’t work. Change from Just me to
Everyone. Otherwise you can keep it.​
Click Next and wait for it to install. When prompted, close the window.​

Click your Search Icon, type in “altserver”, right click the AltServer program and choose Run as
administrator.​

Plug in the device you want to install Sonolus on into your PC. Unlock the screen of your device
and if asked, select “Trust this computer”.

Installing AltStore

Click the tiny arrow to have your background applications show up and then click the gray
diamond to get further options. Hover over Install AltStore and your device should show up in
there. If it doesn’t, go to iTunes and see if it appears there. If it does, check this box.​

If it doesn’t appear in iTunes, you might be running a non-data transfer cable. If it appears in
iTunes but not in AltServer with Wifi sync on, your devices might be on different networks. They
both need to be on the same network for it to work. If it still doesn’t work, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. You can try
re-reading the guide to see if you did something wrong. This is also an ample time to read all
the disclaimers at the first page if you skipped them. They are there for a reason.​

If all went well, you should be greeted with this prompt.​
Fill out your Apple ID and Password and click Install. AltServer only communicates with Apple
so your credentials aren’t stored.​

If you have 2FA active, follow standard procedure to get your code and enter it.​

AltStore should now be installed on your device.

Installing Sonolus

Go to your device and try to launch AltStore. You should get an error message like this. Press
Cancel.​

Go to your Settings app. Click General and navigate to “VPN & Device Management”​
Click on the name of your Apple ID in the Developer App and click the blue text that says “Trust
thisisyouremail@thisisyourdomain.xyz”.​

Back out of your Settings app and launch AltStore again.​

You should be greeted by this when you open AltStore. Enter your credentials again and Sign
In.​

You should end up here. Click the Sonolus .ipa file. Version number doesn’t matter.​

Select Open in AltStore.
If Open in AltStore doesn’t show up and you’re using a different browser than Safari, try
following the link in Safari instead.​

If the installation is successful, Sonolus will be in this list. You need to refresh the certificate
every 7 days if AltStore doesn’t do it automatically. Opening AltStore should make it pretty clear
how to do that.
