A Strange Noise
One evening, Tinashe and Rufaro were busy studying for their upcoming exams in the living
room. The atmosphere was quiet, with only the sound of the wind howling outside the
window. Suddenly, a strange, eerie noise broke the silence, coming from somewhere in the
backyard. The noise was loud and unsettling. Both of them froze, staring at each other with
wide eyes.
“Did you hear that?” whispered Rufaro, her voice trembling.
“Yes, let’s go and find out what it is,” Tinashe answered, his voice equally nervous.
The two of them cautiously moved toward the door, hearts pounding. But just as they reached
for the doorknob, the power went out, and the entire house was plunged into darkness.
Terrified, they dashed back to the living room and locked the door, waiting anxiously for
their parents to return home.
