Objective: This intense Ignite Week will empower entrepreneurs to turn their innovative business ideas into reality within a compressed timeframe of 5 days. They will develop an entrepreneurial mindset/culture, obtain a unique startup experience, and create a prototype product that will benefit customers. Ignite Week will enable entrepreneurs to build the social media, web application, mobile application, or other technology that theyve been dreaming of developing. The entrepreneurs will meet and work with like-minded developers, designers, and business professionals to turn their ideas into reality. First day is called Ideathon


April 7th, 2012 Aramco Entrepreneurship Center (Waed) and KAUST Entrepreneurship Center The primary objective of the first day is to sharpen and strengthen the ideas that participants plan on pitching. Following the Ideathon, all participants will have a sharpened idea and a wellrehearsed pitch ready to be presented at the upcoming Ignite Week. The Ideathon will take place over the course of 4 hours, and will function in four different stages based on the strength and maturity of the applicants idea. 1

10-10:15AM = Welcome and introduction Welcoming notes from Waed and KAUST EC 10:15-11:30AM = Stage 0 Initial pitch of 50 entrepreneurs with Ideas Each entrepreneur will pitch his/her idea in 60 seconds. This will set the stage for the next steps. Judges will evaluate the pitches in real time, and direct entrepreneurs to an appropriate track

10:16AM-3PM = Stage 1-3 10:16AM 1PM = Stage 1: Problem Identification and Solution Entrepreneur will be walked through various exercises to help them communicate the specific problem that their startup will address, and the solution that they have proposed. 10:16AM 2PM = Stage 2: Validating the Market Entrepreneurs will work in small groups to identify and validate their targeted market, and also explore other potential market segments based on the opinions and expertise provided by the other participants in the group. 10:16AM 3PM = Stage 3: Perfecting the Pitch Entrepreneurs will work on mastering their pitch in less than 60 seconds. Pitches: Before the pitches, all pitch slides (1 slide per pitch) will be printed and posted on a wall Pitch slide shows the business idea and skills needed to form a team

Team Formation Assumptions: All participants will be given 1 sticker (color coded based on their skill set develop, design, business) to vote on their favorite business idea. Team size should be 4-6 people. Once a team is formed, the leader takes the idea off the wall and takes his/her team to a workstation. Waed and KAUST EC will help place any remaining participants on a team.
