Welcome.
Thank you for playing Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance™! We are always looking for ways to improve
your gaming experience. For the latest information on the game, please go to the Slitherine web site.

Below you will find the latest and greatest information on Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance™. Information
in this document supersedes that in the official game manual.

Troubleshooting:
Ensure that your system meets the minimum system requirements. These are found in the game manual.
Also, ensure that you have the latest video and sound drivers available for your system. The vast majority
of reported problems are resolved by upgrading all drivers to the latest versions.

If you are still experiencing problems with the game, please use our Ticket System or post in the
Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance Support Forum. Please provide as much detail on your issue as you
can.
To obtain optimum game performance, close all other applications before beginning a game.

• We Are Legion DLC available
o Play as Legion
o Find out the true threat of Digital Storm
• Reworked the highlighting system for selected buildings. Added display of entrances/exits.
• Added the ability to adjust the volume of squad voices in the sound settings.
• Added a mute button for background messages.
• Added a Suspended state indicator (after EMP) of a unit next to its icon.
• Fixed a bug due to which glass in buildings could be impenetrable for small arms.
• Fixed a rare bug with losing a mission if Doc's car was evacuated before Doc himself.
• Small balance changes in skirmishes and multiplayer.
• Minor fixes to known AI issues in skirmishes and multiplayer maps.

• On the Canal map, some buildings that were impossible to enter have been fixed. The rest of
such buildings act as decorations - their design has been slightly changed to make this more
obvious.
• On the Island map, a building where squads could descend under the landscape has been fixed.
• In the Nueva Tortuga mission, the difficulty of the duel with the squad of furies has been reduced.
• Increased the number of slots in the last reinforcement of the Final mission so that the player can
call all of their units.
• On the Island map, path issues on some stairs have been fixed.

v1.04.995 – 20th August 2024


• Added 2v2 versions for most skirmish Domination maps.
• Added a brand new "Island" map for skirmish and multiplayer modes (Domination 1v1 and 2v2).
• Added a brand new "Canal" map for skirmish and multiplayer modes (Domination 1v1).
• Fixed a bug that could occur in some cases in the "Infect the Spider" quest on the Nueva Tortuga
mission. The spider should now return to the Integrator's Camp regardless if the player leaves the
Arena.
• Fixed a bug where the player could lose the ability to complete the Oklahoma mission due to the
supply base being destroyed before it was discovered.
• Minor tweaks on all multiplayer missions.
v1.04.993 – 11th July 2024
• In multiplayer, for Domination and Assault maps (2v2, 2v1), the ability to assign AI as allies or
enemies has been added (Note - there must be at least two real players in the match). This
makes it possible to play all these maps in co-op mode.
• Minor bug fixes for the Mount Taylor mission.
• Fixed a bug due to which damage to vehicle modules was not displayed on the preview screen on
the client.
• Fixed a bug due to which in multiplayer, when selecting a building, icons of invisible enemy units
could be seen.
• Minor UI fixes.

v1.04.987.01 – 19th June 2024


• Fixed issue with Movement platforms shooting after installing smoke grenade launchers (warning:
the shooting issue will remain during current mission until the next one if, after the hotfix, you use
a save from the tactical map, where the issue already exists).
• Minor fixes in dialogues on the Mount Taylor mission.

v1.04.987 – 10th June 2024


• Mount Taylor - the new campaign mission. It becomes available after the Fort Worth mission (you
can use Fort Worth mission completion autosave to unlock it).
• Two new achievements related to the new mission.
• New items in stores: such as smoke grenade launchers for Abrams tank and some Movement
vehicles, upgrades for vehicles that reduce fuel consumption on missions and supply consumption
on the strategic map.
• The assortment of all stores has been adjusted.
• Added Custom difficulty level, which can be selected when starting a new campaign. You can
customize many aspects of the campaign for yourself: from unit damage and supply consumption
to the prohibiting of Active pause and turning on Ironman mode.
• "Free camera" option (available on the Game option tab). Warning: Using a free camera at certain
angles can significantly reduce the number of FPS.
• Added the ability to invite friends to a multiplayer game via Steam.
• Added two new skirmish missions: Interchange and Mount Tailor (Domination).
• Added Mount Taylor multiplayer map (Domination 1vs1 and 2vs2).
• Increased multiplayer version (so that regular players do not see beta players)
• Slightly improved the path on skirmish and multiplayer Burnt Forest maps

• Some improvements have been made to the Interchange multiplayer map: issues with the path
and some buildings have been fixed, player spawns have been changed in version 2vs2,
environmental sounds have been added.
• Deployment of weapons for units located inside buildings has been removed. Now soldiers will
shoot immediately after moving to the desired firing position in buildings.
• Deployment time for trailers that can shoot while attached has been significantly reduced.
• In multiplayer, the ability has been added to choose the direction inside a building for squads or to
disembark them in another building using the appropriate orders available when selecting a
building with infantry inside (previously did not work for clients).
• Fixed an issue with the helicopter freezing due to an attempt to disembark passengers before the
helicopter has fully landed.
• Fixed a bug with Himars shooting, when instead of opening fire it started moving forward.
• Fixed a bug with disappearing ATGMs in multiplayer.
• Minor UI fixes.
• Fixed several rare random crashes.
• Fixed bugs with shooting from the loopholes of the passenger trailer in multiplayer.
• Fixed a bug due to which animations of vehicle doors were not played on the client.

• Fixed an issue that was the cause of save games breaking (which caused a crash when loading).

v1.03.971 – 30th April 2024


• Added two skirmish missions.
• Added a brand new multiplayer map for Domination mode (Interchange 1vs1, Interchange 2vs2).
Skirmish is planned to be added to this map later.
• Added multiplayer missions, some of which with new game modes (Coop, Scavenger, Capture
and Hold).
• Option for Domination mode, when captured zones can bring additional command points.
• Added descriptions of game modes for multiplayer and skirmish maps.
• Added the damage modes option to multiplayer - Arcade and Realistic. In arcade mode, player
and enemy units only receive 30% damage.
• Additional variations of the Armored carrier trailer unit have been added to the starting sets of
Domination mode units.
• If the only opponent in a multiplayer game leaves the game, the remaining player is shown the
victory screen.
• Added a timeout for joining the lobby if the connection was lost.
• Fixed a bug due to which the progress bar for installing C4 clients was visible on the server.
• Fixed a bug with syncing fuel of units on the client.

• Significantly changed the beginning of the campaign mission with the attack on the Main
Integrator Camp (due to complaints that there was a misunderstanding of what to do in this
mission). After the update, it is not recommended to use saves made on this mission in older
versions.
• Fixed a bug where the game might not launch if there are Unicode characters in the path.
• Minor UI fixes.
• Fixed several rare random crashes.
• Fixed minor memory leaks.
• Fixed a bug where, after loading, black spots could be displayed on the map instead of the correct
textures.
• Improved helicopter landing (an issue that made it too difficult to find a suitable place).
• Slightly increased damage from hand grenades.
• For Dozer without armor upgrades, the armor of the frontal part of the cab was slightly increased.
• Fixed a bug due to which units inside the Armored carrier trailer did not receive experience for
kills.
• Fixed a regression that in a certain case (and only when using old saves) led to the appearance of
enemy vehicles that cannot be attacked.
• Fixed a bug due to which moving a unit by double-clicking did not work if there were too many
slots on the right side of the Reinforcement screen.
• Fixed a bug that led to negative values of resources received when selling or disassembling units.
• In the campaign, a Heavy platform was added to the assortment of the Movement Outpost store
(after Abiquiu).
• Japanese brothers who help the player in the Nueva Tortuga mission are now using laser snipers.
• In the Fort Worth mission, additional checks have been added to the exit area to exclude the exit
of Charest and civilians.
• Fixed that "Digital storm" could only be used once (then it stopped working).
• Fixed an issue in the final mission where the allied Founders units could get stuck, which is why
their evacuation was not counted.

• Fixed a bug due to which it was sometimes impossible to give move order if among the selected
units there was a stationary or immobilized one.
• The "Objectives updated" widget is now transparent to the cursor.
• Added tip to take the humvee when evacuating from Haven base.
• Removed the ability to talk to Movement if the player became their enemy due to an attack on
Mack on Abiquiu Mission.
• Fixed a bug due to which a dialogue with the Integrators could begin when they had already left
the map on Vega Mission.
• Fixed a bug where objectives could be missing at the end of a mission in Vega.
• Added an icon above the humvee that the rangers give on Oklahoma Mission.
• Supply Depots now have main objective icons above them on Oklahoma Mission.
• Fort Worth mission rebalanced and improved.
• Fixed missing radio effect in dialogues on Integrators Camp Mission.
• Removed spawns of drones (Swarm) that were sent to the emergency exit from the factory on the
Final Mission.
• Added additional checks to ensure that the vehicle with the Digital Storm returns to player control.
• Increased the range of ATGM and AA missiles of "Prototype-2" to reduce the likelihood of being
shot at from a distance from which it cannot respond.

• Added FULL Widescreen functionality.
• The base difficulty level has been renamed to Normal, it is now selected by default when starting
a new campaign.
• Reduced damage taken by player units at Normal and Medium difficulty levels.
• Daily Army Supply Consumption Rate now depends on difficulty level. On Normal difficulty it is
reduced by 40%.
• Added a warning to the vehicle disassembly window.
• Spare parts has been increased for some vehicles.
• On the Abiquiu mission, the behaviour of enemies and their number have been changed to make
it easier for the player to save Kondo and the Civilians.
• On the Nueva Tortuga mission, the part from the beginning of the uprising until the arrival of the
first reinforcement has had difficulty changes to make it less difficult.
• On the Nueva Tortuga mission, the player’s reinforcement spawn area was moved further away
from enemy locations (to see this change, the mission must be started from the very beginning
with the Strategic Map).
• On the Nueva Tortuga mission, fixed the issue of leaving vehicles behind if Mason is on the
vehicle as a crew during the exit from the mission (to see this change, you have to use the save
made before the first reinforcement).
• Fixed a bug that could cause platform turrets to constantly increase after save loads.
• Fixed a bug that could cause crews to get stuck inside vehicles.
• Fixed several rare random crashes.
• Fixed a bug in Multiplayer where the game continued waiting indefinitely waiting for other players,
after starting the game in multiplayer.
• Added warnings when clients are disconnected when starting a multiplayer game.
• To adjust the balance in multiplayer, additional squads of swarm and homunculi with SMAW has
been added to Legions unit set.
• To adjust the balance in multiplayer, additional infantry slots and units have been added for
Movement.
• Additional! A clarification to the last patch notes of the last 1.01.934 patch.
• "On the Nueva Tortuga mission, a rare bug has been fixed due to which the mission could be
considered lost when Luiz, Mason's or Church's squad leaving sector".*
• *To avoid this bug you have to use the save made before you won the Cartel on this mission.

• Fixed a problem that could lead to the "black screen" and crashes when starting the game on
wide screens.
• Added ability to confirm your choice in the settings by pressing the Enter button.
• Fixed a crash problem if for some reason the video or audio adapter was not initialized
• Fixed UI bug in 4K on the infantry training screen.
• Fixed several rare random crashes.
• Fixed disappearance of the squad's healing indicator.
• Fixed a rare bug where the task "Clear Legion forces out of the area" in Abiquiu was not
considered completed due to hidden single Legion units.
• Additional allied forces have been added at the beginning of the Movement Outpost mission so
that the player can fight off Rev-6 even if he came to the mission with a very small army.
• Integrators on the Santa Fe outskirts mission should no longer immediately become enemies due
to the player's unit accidentally passing through their territory.
• On the Nueva Tortuga mission, a rare bug has been fixed due to which the mission could be
considered lost when Luiz, Mason's or Church's squad leaving sector.
• Fixed a bug with Kelso's dialogue button disappearing when his Bradley is destroyed (Vega
mission).
• In the Fort Worth mission, a rare issue with Stevens leaving the map has been fixed.
• Minor difficulty tweaks (on Story and Medium difficulty levels) on Haven Base Mission.
• Difficulty tweaks (on Story and Medium difficulty levels) on Santa Fe outskirts Mission.
• Difficulty tweaks on Vega Mission.
• Minor difficulty tweaks on Nueva Tortuga Mission (at the spawn of the player's main
reinforcements).
• Reduced the level of Skulls squad to reduce the randomness when fighting with him in a duel on
Nueva Tortuga Mission.
• In multiplayer now only one artillery slot is given per reinforcement phase.
And if you have a Widescreen Monitor with this update:
• A player with a widescreen monitor, on launching the game, the resolution is set by default -
1920x1080
• If not, go to the Settings Screen, on Video, choose FullHD (1920x1080) or 2K (2560x1440)
resolution. If you don't see the Apply button, you can use the Enter button on your keyboard to
change the settings.
• Turn Off Full Screen, thus choosing windowed mode.
• This should be done for both Widescreen Monitors and UltraWidescreen Monitors
