ANNEXURE TO TFAPA APPLICATION FORM

General Information/Instructions

The producers seeking membership in Tamil Film Active Producers Association (TFAPA) are advised to go
through the following instructions carefully which may be useful while filling up the Application form.

Producer Members will be enrolled in their individual names and not in the name of the company or Firm.

MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY DETAILS: (as per the bye laws of TFAPA).

Bye-Law No: 1: The Membership of the Association is open to all active producers who produce films in Tamil
language, and who are actively engaged in such production either having produced previously in Tamil language
or currently engaged in production of Tamil films.

Bye-Law No: 2: Membership: Producer members will be enrolled in their individual names and not in the name
of the firm or company. The membership will be considered on the following basis.

i. Primary Members (with voting rights): Producers, who have produced and released at
least 2 straight films (censored and released in their name) in the last five years with at
least 1 film in the last 3 years shall be accepted as Primary Members. They shall remain
as Primary members in the Association, but the voting right shall be based on producing
and releasing at least 1 film in the last 3 years at the time of elections.
ii. Honorary Primary Members: Producers, who Produced and released at least 5
straight films in their life time, shall be considered as Honorary Primary Members. They
will have the voting right, if they have produced and released at least 1 film in the last 3
years, at the time of elections.
iii. Associate Members (without voting rights): Producers, who have produced, censored
and released at least 1 straight film in the last five years, shall be Associate Members of
the Association, which shall be decided on the 1st day of the Calendar Year by the
Association. Once they cross the eligibility factor for Primary Membership defined
above, they shall become a Primary Member, which shall be decided on the 1 st day of
the Calendar Year by the Association.
iv. Probationary Members (without voting rights): Producers, who are producing a straight
film now (means, new Producers) shall be under this group. They will become Associate
Members once their film is released immediately.
v. Corporate Membership (with voting rights): Corporate Houses or Public Limited or
Private Limited Companies can become a Primary or Associate or Probationary
member, subject to the number of films produced criterion, by authorizing a
representative from the same Company. For such Corporate membership, the censor
will be done in the name of the Company and not on the individual names. However, the
Corporate members cannot contest in any elections. They can only vote.
2. The elevation of Associate Members to Primary Membership with voting rights shall be based on such
members applying to the Association on the day of becoming eligible, based on the number of films
produced and released criterion. The Management Team shall go through such applications and decide
on the elevation to the Primary Membership once a month. In the case of pre-election period, such
Associate Member should have released the film at least 30 days prior to the election date.
3. The following terms shall apply to Primary or Senior or Associate or Probationary membership:
 The membership will be by the name of the person & not on the banner name. Hence, only one primary
membership to be given to a member irrespective of the number of banners under which he or she
produced the films.
 For Partnership firms, the authorized person from the Partners shall be the member of the Association. If
the person as the member is terminated from the partnership, the remaining partners of the business
 can nominate another partner as the Member and the Association will recognize the same accordingly.
In the event there are only two partners and one leaves the partnership, both the partners have to agree
on who will remain as the member in the Association. In both these cases, if there is no consensus
among the members, the earlier authorized person will remain as the representing Member.
 Even for Individual members, if there is an authorized person (in view of the member’s incapacity to
operate directly due to any reason), the authorized person shall be the member of the Association as
long as the authorizing member continues to be a member of the association.
 If films are censored in joint names when it comes to partnership firms, then the person authorized as
the member of the Association shall get the credit for production of number of films purpose.
 Only one person can get the credit for a film produced by multiple parties or partners. The decision on
who should get the credit must be given in writing by all the Producers/Partners to the Association.
 The Release date of the films to be taken for the purpose of number of releases during the period
 All counting of number of films shall be based on 1st day of the Calendar Year and every year the
membership will be evaluated based on the number of films produced by a member for eligibility as the
Primary member.

MEMBERSHIP FEE STRUCTURE:

the Primary members subject to the eligibility criterion as laid out in the bye laws of TFAPA..

Five Thousands Only)applicable shall be the non-refundable
entrance fee for the Associate Member/Probationary members.
3. Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) + GST applicable shall be the Annual subscription fee for a
financial year commencing from 1st April to 31st March of the succeeding year. The Annual subscription
shall be paid in full at the time of enrolment irrespective of the time/month the member was admitted, and
subsequent annual subscription shall be continued to be paid in the ensuing financial year. Please note
that the above entrance fee/subscription fee may be paid together either by cheque or DD.
4. An Associate/Probationary member will become a Primary member of the Association, once he releases
two films in Tamil within the 3 years time period and will be eligible for voting.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED:

5. A photocopy of two identification proofs from the following of the producer to all the categories:
a. Pan Card – (is compulsory)
b. Passport/Voters ID/ AADHAR Card/Driving License - any one of these must be provided as
address proof.
6. Three passport size photographs of the Producer.
7. Censor Certificate(s) of the films Produced.
8. The Producers applying for Probationary membership shall produce a letter from the Laboratory
concerned or any other valid legal document wherein the negatives are processed/or to be processed for
the particular film that he/she is producing.
9. All Payments should be made in the name of TAMIL FILM ACTIVE PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION by way
of Demand Draft or Cheque, payable at Chennai. If there is any cheque bounce, a penalty of Rs.500/-
shall be charged on the member. Further payment by cheques from such members shall not be accepted.
