aligns with the curriculum guidelines of UNAD's academic programs, contributing to the
enhancement of generic competencies. As a 3-credit course with a theoretical-practical
methodology, it integrates language learning with practical application.

The course focuses on key topics such as: Expressing rules and regulations: Students learn how
to express prohibitions and discuss rules effectively. Describing places: This includes describing
emotions, comparing places, and expressing feelings about different environments. Talking

personal stories.

Using a Task-Based Learning (TBL) approach, the course guides students through six structured
tasks designed to build skills for discussing daily life situations, personal experiences, and
events. Students will enhance their oral and written communication abilities, including listening,
speaking, writing, and interpreting texts.

This course is essential for intermediate English learners as it provides opportunities to practice

a. Methodological Strategy

The methodological strategy of the course is: Task-Based Learning (TBL)

This strategy consists of:

Task-Based Learning (TBL) is an instructional approach focused on engaging students in

meaningful tasks to promote language acquisition. In TBL, learners solve real-world problems
or complete specific tasks using the target language, which enhances their communicative
competence (Ellis, 2003). This method emphasizes authentic use of language over isolated
grammar drills and supports collaborative and autonomous learning (Willis & Willis, 2007).
Tasks typically include activities like role-playing, problem-solving, or project work, fostering
practical skills applicable to everyday contexts.
