We have few queries about Kolkata TV time spent, which are as follows.

It is important to understand if the time spent in Kol of Kolkata TV is uniform across all household in Kolkata or not ? In
other words
1. What percentage do the top 1% households in Kolkata contribute to the overall time spent ?
2. Similarly, what percentage do the top 5%, top 10%, 20% and top 50% of the time spent households contribute
to the overall time spent ?
3. How do these percentages in questions no 1 and 2, compare with a similar slicing of time spent of TV9 Bangla
and the Genre as a whole ?
These answers may possibly help you to understand if there are any illegal interventions at the ground level.
In June-July 2020 when TV9 Bharatvarsh was surging, competitors levelled unfounded allegations of manipulation by us.
After a thorough investigation, BARC ruled out foul play and ratified that TV9 Bharatvarsh’s surge was uniform across all
sample homes. This was logical because the channel had just recently been revamped with a brand new FPC supported
by a massive marketing and distribution effort. So, it is important to understand the time spent of Kolkata TV is
uniformly distributed across Kolkata.
I am aware BARC has tried and tested processes to sniff out anomalies. The process of analysis I have requested above
may help BARC fool proof its processes further.
