General
Japanese language
The Japanese language is now supported for Process Simulate applications.
Process Simulate
Cable enhancements
From this version, users have an additional option for attaching a retractable cable to robots. The
Cable Editor dialog offers user-friendly representations and brief demos of all the attachment types -
one fixed and two retractable methods, one of which is newly added.
The Retract System Type options represent the devices which gather, i.e., retract the momentarily
unneeded cable as the robot joints move during operation, and releasing it as required to perform
the tasks.
WinMOD
Process Simulate now offers a direct connection to WinMOD. This enables users to exchange signals
between Process Simulate and WinMOD directly for virtual commissioning. WinMOD is well-known
as a tool for behavior simulation of factory devices and drives that is widely used in manufacturing
industries.
It is possible to create a local and remote WinMOD and Process Simulate connection even though
WinMOD is not currently running.
TCP tracker
Starting this version, for cases of when the tool is mounted on the robot, using the TCP Tracker
creates new "Curves" folders in the Object Tree under the root folder. The new folder has a sub
folder that is named according to the robot, which contains another folder below it named according
to the operation. This makes it easier for users to identify which tracking curves are associated
with which tools, robots and operations. Another aid to identifying the curves is their new naming
convention - each curve is named after the two subsequent locations visited by the tool, separated by
an underscore, e.g., loc1_loc2.
For Mounted Workpiece situations, a sub folder with the tool name is located below the operation
folder, and the tool name folder contains the Curves.
After using the Export to Excel command, importing the excel file in WinMOD and SIMIT automatically
updates the signal names, addresses and types. Until now, users had to perform these updates
manually.
VR updates
Controlling visibility of objects and Humans in VR / Process Simulate
Now changes that users make in the visibility of objects and human figures (blank/display) in Process
Simulate are reflected in the VR session, and vice versa.
Deformable Human Support in PS Virtual Reality
Human figures with smooth (deformable) skin are now supported in Process Simulate Virtual Reality.
Users can immerse themselves in a human simulation, experiencing it from any vantage point in 1:1
size. The compelling experience allows them to more easily uncover issues regarding human factors
that may be missed using the traditional 2D monitor.
Sample resources:
• Edit Line Simulation studies in Process Simulate on Teamcenter Standalone (both Virtual
Commisioning and Cyclic Event Evaluator (CEE).
• Performance of drill down in the Process or Plant structure to find the objects that users want
to add to the study scope
• A search box was added to the Edit Study Scope dialog make it easier to locate the Structure
object a user wishes to add to the study.
Go to the Documentation Center link and scroll to the Teamcenter Manufacturing Access section, and
pick version (2.6) for more information.
Enhancements
Collaboration Context Integration enhancements (2)
1. ER 9209313: The Variant PublishMapping in the CC configuration file option now controls the
exchange of both the variant conditions and the variant options upon publishing of eMS structures.
2. Compound Equipment prototypes can now be stored in the Resource Library, both in Teamcenter
and eMServer, where it is now correctly mapped.
Note
• If an Equipment prototype is added in eMServer, it still needs to be published
under an Equipment library. It should be in a separate structure (ER 9099660).
■ References to children from simulation, e.g., Blank Event, Engineering data, Object
Visibility
o The logic of Resource Browser and Resource Search is unified with Copy/Paste and Assign
data from Teamcenter when copying compound resources. Now they create duplicates.
• The Process Simulate on Teamcenter Replace JT command has been updated to Set/Replace
JT. The new Set command allows users to add a JT file to a resource, in addition to the existing
Replace JT command.
• Now saving the data after alphabetically sorting an Object tree, persists the newly sorted tree
to subsequent Process Simulate sessions.
• An additional signal type, LREAL, which enables calculations with high accuracy, is now supported
in Process Simulate. LREAL uses the IEEE double-precision floating point number format.
• In this version the energy optimization algorithm, which is part of Automatic Path Planner, was
improved to provide better performance and responsiveness.
• In version 15.0 support has been added for complex variable joint limits for some Yaskawa
7-axis robots, such as VS100.
