    This guide gives you an overview of a basic installation of IBM InfoSphere Information Server.

    Product overview
    IBM InfoSphere Information Server combines the technologies of IBM InfoSphere Business Glossary, IBM InfoSphere Blueprint Director, IBM InfoSphere Information Analyzer, IBM InfoSphere DataStage, IBM InfoSphere FastTrack, IBM InfoSphere Information Services Director, IBM InfoSphere Metadata Workbench, and IBM InfoSphere QualityStage into a single platform that enables organizations to understand, cleanse, transform, and deliver trustworthy and context-rich information.

    Step 1: Access your software


    To download your product if you do not have the installation media, go to the IBM Passport Advantage site. For instructions, see the IBM Support Portal. This installation package includes these components: v Product modules in the InfoSphere Information Server suite v Clients for the product modules v IBM DB2 (optional) v IBM WebSphere Application Server v Product documentation To download any fix packs or updates, go to the IBM Support Portal or the Knowledge Collection.

    Step 2: Evaluate the system requirements


    Ensure that your computers meet the system requirements.

    Step 3: Plan your installation and architecture


    You install InfoSphere Information Server product modules and components on one computer or distributed across multiple computers. InfoSphere Information Server is installed in tiers: metadata repository tier, services tier, engine tier, and client tier. The following diagram shows an installation that is distributed across three computers. For details about architectures, see IBM InfoSphere Information Server Planning, Installation, and Configuration Guide.

    Step 4: Install and configure the product modules and components


    Review the release notes for the latest information to ensure successful installations. Follow the installation and configuration instructions for one of these scenarios: v Basic installation (no high availability) v Isolated engine tier and parallel installation v Highly available active/passive installation v Highly available clustered installation To upgrade from a previous release, you migrate to a new installation of InfoSphere Information Server. That new installation can be created by following any of the scenarios above, if you do not use the new installation before migration. For more information, see Migrating to IBM InfoSphere Information Server Version 8.7.

    Vous installez les modules et les composants de produit InfoSphere Information Server sur un ordinateur ou sur plusieurs ordinateurs rpartis. InfoSphere Information Server est install dans des niveaux : niveau rfrentiel de mtadonnes, niveau services, niveau moteur et niveau client. Le diagramme ci-aprs montre une installation qui est rpartie sur trois ordinateurs.     tape 4 : Installez et configurez les modules et composants du produit


    Consultez les notes sur l'dition pour obtenir les informations les plus rcentes afin de garantir la russite des installations. Suivez les instructions d'installation et de configuration pour l'un des scnarios suivants : v Installation de base (aucune haute disponibilit) v Installation parallle et de niveau moteur isole v Installation active/passive hautement disponible v Installation sur cluster hautement disponible Pour mettre niveau partir d'une dition prcdente, vous devez migrer vers une nouvelle installation d'InfoSphere Information Server. Cette nouvelle installation peut tre cre en suivant l'un des scnarios ci-dessus, si vous n'utilisez pas la nouvelle installation avant la migration.
