This Student Study Guide includes three 50-minute hands-on projects to help
students assess their readiness for the certification exam. These scenario-
based projects consist of multiple real-world tasks that map to exam
objectives. Accompanying the projects is the Learning Directory which allows
students the opportunity to research and practice specific concepts until
mastery. Solution files are provided to assess and remediate. The Study
Guide is available in three different file formats allowing educators the
opportunity to choose which is the best fit in their learning environment.
Scenario
This Study Guide uses a single business scenario that unifies all the project
tasks and gives students a single focus for applying what they learn. As
students complete the tasks, they will experience Microsoft Office through
the lens of a real-world setting. They will be challenged to become more
productive and efficient users of Microsoft Office while navigating common
workplace responsibilities.
Projects
The Student Study Guide is divided into three different projects. Projects
include a set of up to 40 tasks to be completed within approximately 50
minutes to simulate the certification exam environment. Based on exam MO-
100: Microsoft Word (Word and Word 2019), each task addresses specific
objectives to assess students’ knowledge of the application in a real-world
context.

Learning Directory
The Learning Directory provides a table which includes certification exam
objectives, online resources, step-by-step guidance for remediation of the
skills covered, along with mapping to the Study Guide projects and the MSIA
Microsoft Word Associate 2019 course. This directory allows students the
ability to focus on specific concepts to improve their competency with
Microsoft Word 2019.
Solution Files
The solution files demonstrate a successful solution for completing the tasks
and projects. These solutions are provided in multiple formats allowing for
differentiation.
These files can be used as a guide and the solutions can be shared with
students at the teacher's discretion.

Structure
Listed below is an overview of the folder structure and materials within the
Student Study Guide.
Scenario
This study guide utilizes Munson’s Pickles and Preserves Farm as the
overarching scenario for all project tasks. In this business scenario, Munson’s
Pickles and Preserves started as a small farm market focused on fresh
produce. Due to the success of the business, coupled with the family’s
passion for greenery, Munson’s is now considering expanding the business to
include a flower and plant nursery.
Microsoft Word Associate 2019/Office 365
Educator Introduction
Students completing the projects in this study guide will be asked to envision
themselves as a Munson’s Pickles and Preserves Farm employee tasked with
evaluating and researching the potential flower and plant nursery expansion.
The collected research and data will then be presented to Munson’s to guide
the future development and expansion of the farm.
Software Requirements
In preparation of using the Student Study Guide, ensure that all students
have a computer with:
Office 2019 or Office 365
This Student Study Guide contains direct mapping of the content to the
objective domain for the MO-100: Microsoft Word exam and MSIA Microsoft
Word Associate 2019 course. This exam, like all Microsoft Office Specialist
certification exams, is based on desktop application features that only come
with both Office 365 and Office 2019.
