Prayer of Confession
God of mercy, your command to love one another across all differences
opens us to new horizons, yet we often respond with fear and judgment
that hinders your goal for humanity. Forgive our sins, we pray, and give us
a true repentance that leads to life for all creation. We pray in Jesus’ name.

Isaiah 40:21-26
Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the
beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded? 22 He sits
enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He
stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live
in. 23 He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.
24 No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take
root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind
sweeps them away like chaff. 25 “To whom will you compare me? Or who is my
equal?” says the Holy One. 26 Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who

Matthew 12:38-42
Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, “Teacher, we
want to see a sign from you.” 39 He answered, “A wicked and adulterous
generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet
Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge
fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the
earth. 41 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation
and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now something
greater than Jonah is here. 42 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment
with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to
listen to Solomon’s wisdom, and now something greater than Solomon is here.

*Affirmation of Faith The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in
Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead,
and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the
dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the
Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the
dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion
of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life

Book Giveaway
Due to the planned sale of our property, books and other materials in the church
library are now available to any members and friends of the church who are
interested in them. During church office hours, including one hour following
Sunday worship, materials on the shelves just inside the door and in the meeting
room to the right of the office are available to be taken. Donations are requested
and can be left in the white mailbox on the right just inside the door.
Volunteer Drivers Needed!
CPC is looking for drivers who could help assist in picking up and dropping off
fellow church members for the Sunday worship services. If interested, please
