General Instructions :
(i) This question paper contains five sections - A, B, C, D and E. Each
section is compulsory. However, there are internal choices in some
questions.
(ii) Section A has 18 MCQs and 02 Assertion - Reason based questions of
1 mark each.
(iii) Section B has 5 very short answer (VSA) type questions of 2 marks each.
(iv) Section C has 6 short answer (SA) type questions of 3 marks each.
(v) Section D has 4 long answer (LA) type questions of 5 marks each.
(vi) Section E has 3 source based / case based / passage based / integrated
units of assessment (4 marks each) with sub parts.

5 cu m/hr. Find the rate at which the level of the water is rising at the instant when the
depth of water in the tank is 4 m.

Case Study - I
36. An owner of a bike company has decided to rent bikes. Let n be the number of
bikes rented per day and x be the rental charges per bike per day. Relation between
the rental charges and number of bikes rented is given by linear function

(i) Find the total revenue R as a function of x.
(ii) Find rate of change of revenue w.r.t. the rental charges per day.
(iii) For what values of x, the revenue function will increase.

(iii) Find the rental charges if the revenue collected is Rs. 1,00,000.
Case Study - II
Read the following passage and answer the questions given below :
37. Students of a school are taken to a railway museum to learn about railway heritage
and its history.
An exibhit in the museum depicted many rail lines on the track near the railway
station. Let L be the set of all rail lines on the railway track and R be the relation on
L defined by R   1 ,  2  : 1 is parallel to  2 .
On the basis of above information, answer the following questions :
(i) Find whether the relation R is symmetric or not.
(ii) Find whether the relation R is transitive or not.
(iii) If one of the rail line on the railway track is represented by the equation
y = 3x + 2, then find the set of rail lines in R related to it.
OR
(iii) Let S be the relation defined by S  1 ,  2  : 1 is perpendicular to  2 ,
check whether the relation S is symmetric and transitive.
Case Study - III
Read the following passage and answer the questions given below :
38. Three students, Ram, Mohan and Ankit go to a shop to buy stationary. The number
of articles purchased by them are given as under :

(ii) If the number of articles purchased by Mohan and Ankit are doubled, write
the new matrix A and also find its determinant.
