Characters:

St Thomas Aquinas- wise and courageous teacher and a seeker of truth.

Lucy- a conflicted young girl tempered by selfish desire.

Sofia- a kind but uncertain young woman eager to do good but lacking
confidence.

The merchant- a sly figure representing greed.

The beggar- a humble and modest9 old man symbolising the marginalised.

The nobleman- a proud Aristocrat who looks down on the poor.

The angel- of voice of divine wisdom.

Scene 1
Bursting marketplace, Lucy and Sofia walk through the crowd. The
merchant calls out to them.

Merchant (shaurya)- Find skills! rare species! and for you my friends a
special discount. if you are willing to bend the rules a little.

Lucy- What do you mean??

Merchant(manas)- A little lie here, a stolen item there. And you get what
you want.

Sofia- But that's wrong....

Lucy- why ? If no one finds out, who cares?

[St. Thomas steps in]

St. -My friends, you wrestle with a great question. Does an act's goodness
depend on who sees it?

Lucy - Isn't morality just what society says?

St.- No, morality is written in the heart. Natural law guides us towards what
is truly good, just as fire rises and stones fall. To lie or steal corrupts the soul,
even if no earthly judge condemns it.

Sofia – So goodness isn’t about fear of punishment but about becoming who
we ought to be?
St.- Yes! Virtue is the path to true happiness.

Scene -2
A beggar sits on the ground, coughing. The noblemen walk past,
sheering.

Nobleman(sourabh)- Must this filth litter our streets ? Someone should

drive them away.

Sofia- But he's suffering, shouldn’t we help?

Lucy- What's the point? One coin won't change his life..

Merchant( shaurya )- Save your money. He will just waste it

[St. Thomas approaches the beggar and kneels beside him]

St.-My friend, what do you need?

Beggar - Bread and to be seen as a man, not rubbish.

St. - Every person has infinite dignity, not for their wealth or status but
because they are made in God's image. To ignore suffering is to wound our
own humanity.

[Sofia & Luca gives the Beggar bread ]

Beggar - Thank You, for acknowledging me

Nobleman(aditya) - How touching. But why waste time on this beggar

when you could earn my trust?

Lucy- He is powerful, maybe we should listen.

St.- Beware, Lucy. Pride and greed twist the soul. True greatness lies in
humility and love.

Nobleman(sourabh)– Love & Humility? Weak words for weak People.

[ suddenly, Angle’s voice echoes]

Angel – What does it profit a man to gain the world, yet lose his soul?

[ Nobleman staggers back, struck by the words ]

St.- We are called to love not for reward but because love is the law of
written in our very being

Sofia- So morality isn’t just rules, it’s about becoming fully alive?
St. – Yes! Virtues like Justice, courage, and kindness are the habits of the
heart that lead us to God and to our truest selves.

Lucy- then doing good isn’t about fear, it’s about freedom.

Beggar – And every small act of love makes the world Brighter.

Angel – Blessed are those who walk in the light of truth.

☆ St. Thomas Aquinas taught us that morality is the road to joy not a burden,
but a liberation. In choosing goodness, we choose the very purpose for which
we are made.
