Course Description: Nursing service constitutes the formidable backbone of the healthcare system and
Leadership and Management are healthcare fields that require high level of knowledge and expertise. The
present day concepts in nursing service administration is to demonstrate administrative functions that will
provide therapeutic and satisfying situations for the patients and the personnel. This 16-hour training and
workshop is designed to prepare entry-level nurse managers in the performance of their duties.
General Objectives:
Apply the concepts of Nursing Leadership and Management and incorporate professional competencies and
create upholding of these concepts in the leadership role of nurses.
Specific Objectives:
At the end of this training and workshop, participants will be able to

3. Differentiate organizational planning
4. Describe different planning tools and techniques
5. Utilize appropriate tools during management planning of their area of practice
6. Analyze Concepts of organization as applied in Management

9. Understand the principles of organizational culture
10. Apply the principles and types of staffing
11. Analyze principles of leading/directing as applied in management
12. Apply concepts, elements, and steps of delegation of authority in current practice
13. Apply concepts, strategies, approaches, and considerations of decision making in day-to-day activities
14. Recognize the principles and objectives of audit as a tool for quality control
15. Apply the methods and steps of nursing audit
16. Apply concepts and compositions/ perspectives of Root Cause Analysis as a controlling tool in
strategic planning and management
17. Create correction and corrective action in managing non-conformities following the important concepts,
