    norepinephrine, pseudo phenylephrine, insulin, phosphatase, LDH, AST, ALT levels
    dopamine, MAO inhibitor Be sure to teach the patient the following about this
    medication – take meds as directed, how to check pulse,
    drowsiness, change position slowly

    Nursing Process- Assessment Assessment Why would you hold or Evaluation Check after
    (Pre-administration assessment) – BP, ECG, not give this med? – BP less than 50 giving
    pulse, I & O, daily weights, monitor for CHF bpm, arrhythmia/ with meals or after Lower BP, less anginal
    eating attacks, increase in activity,
    prevention of MI

    Contraind: Geri – increased sensitivity to B blockers; initial dose reduction


    recommended, pulmonary disease; diabetes; thyrotoxicosis, allergic reactions
