Story Writing

Write a story where someone finds a kitten on the street. (200-300 words)

She sat on the bench after a long day of work. Today, she had experienced a lot of bad luck and
misfortune. She sighed in relief; the day had finally come to an end. Sarah was just about to eat her
sandwich but than her eyes landed on a cat whose fur was as black as the night, and with eyes as red as
blood.

The cat stared at Sarah, its eyes sparkled like rubies. She had always loved shiny and beautiful which was
why she felt tempted to pet and hold the cat. The cat slowly and gracefully walked towards her. Even
though she had a bad feeling, she still picked up the cat. Its fur was as soft as clouds. Just as she was
admiring the cat, she heard a loud crack and before she knew it, she was falling.

She landed in a body of water. There was no light except the one coming from the hole she had just
fallen down. She started screaming for help but no one could hear her that’s when she thought of the
cat as she looked down at her hands, she screamed-the cat she had held was now a corpse, looking as if
it had been dead for ages.

As hot tears poured down her cheeks she tried once again to call out for help. Suddenly, she saw
someone come near the hole and to her surprise they walked right over it. She felt as if she was going
crazy. She could taste bile at the back of her mouth as she realized the intensity of the situation.

She felt helpless but decided not to give up. She swam vigorously, but despite her efforts, she wasn’t
moving, and the water continued to rise. She thought she could get out if the water raised enough to
reach the top of the hole. That was the only hope she could hold on too. Suddenly everything went dark
and she realized that the hole was no longer there.

She sensed a wave of panic inside her. She couldn’t help but scream until her vocal cords swelled and
cry until her eyes dried up. Her body had started to go numb and she could no longer move. The silence
was deafening. She could feel her whole body shut down. That was the moment she realized she was
going to die and no one would ever find her.

Just before the darkness claimed her, flashes of her life passed through her mind—moments of joy,
sorrow, love, and loss. She saw the warm smile of her mother, the laughter of her childhood friends, the
tears she shed when her father passed away. These fleeting memories swirled in the cold void, and in
that final moment, she understood the truth.

She paused, accepting her fate.

She was never meant to escape.
