SAMPLING PROCEDURE

All sampling shall be collected from the sampling valve.

• If one hydraulic system with several hydraulic power units (HPU's), only one oil sample
to be collected.
• If multiple hydraulic systems, individual oil samples to be collected.

The sampling procedure must be followed precisely in order to avoid external contamination that will
invalidate the result. Never obtain a sample by breaking a line, e.g. by cracking a joint or by draining a
hose. Always collect the sample under the cleanest conditions possible.

Proceed as follows:

1. Operate the system for at least 30 minutes at normal hydraulic oil temperature, above 40֯C prior
to taking the sample.

Framo recommends collecting oil samples during the discharge operation.
