Mosaic
CONCEPT: Girls – SUNFLOWER | Boys – LOGO OF ANY FOOTBALL CLUB
SIZE: 12 by 16 inches
MEDIUM: Multicoloured beads on Plyboard/Strawboard.
BRIEF: A mosaic is a piece of art or image created by assembling small, individual
pieces of hard materials into a larger design that is visually striking, alongside details
and textures that add depth and aesthetics to the overall piece of art.
Sunflowers possessing brightly coloured petals and dark centre in an artistic manner
ensuring a conspicuous appearance from nature that stimulates the visual sense and
insignia being an emblem or badge that represents an organisation or individual,
often signifying identity is seen to be a form of visual representation.
This exercise is designed to drill learner’s cognitive and psychomotor abilities while
challenging their artistic visual perception of replicating existing insignias and
sunflowers through craft.
MATERIALS
Base – 12 by 16 inches ply board or
strawboard. 12 by 16 inches frame.
Adhesive – Either of Top Bond, UHU glue or Evostic.
Multicoloured sand beads (based on the colours of the chosen insignia) only.
GUIDELINE
1. Get a 12 by 16 inches base (ply board or strawboard)
2. Using a colour printed pictorial reference, make a detailed sketch of the chosen
insignia centralised on the base
3. Stick the corresponding colour of beads accordingly as observed from the
pictorial reference
4. Frame the art piece for proper finishing, presentation and preservation.
