APPROACH ROAD WORK

Part B:2
1 Earthwork in SURFACE EXCAVATION in ALL KINDS OF SOILS not 830.00
exceeding 30cm in depth but exceeding 1.50m in width as well as 10sqm
on plan wherever necessary and disposal of excavated earth, lead up to
50m and lift up to 1.50m (disposed soil to be levelled and neatly dressed)
complete as per specifications

2 Preparation and consolidation of sub-grade, in all kinds of soils, by 830.00


excavating earth to an average of 22.5cm depth, dressing to camber and
consolidating with road roller 8 to 10 ton capacity including making good
the undulations, etc.; and disposal of surplus earth, lead up to 50m
complete all as per specifications.

3 Providing and laying gravel and sand mixed soling of consolidated


thickness specified below with gravel and fine aggregate mixed in ratio
1:1 proportion in layers not exceeding 150mm thick including supplying
approved graded gravel and fine aggregate (in a mixed condition),
spreading and forming gravel soling, berms, including sectioning,
watering, consolidating with power roller of minimum 8 tonnes capacity
inclusive of water charges, hire charges of roller, etc.; complete all as per
specifications.
3.1 230mm thick with fine aggregate (Crushed stone sand produced by 191.00
crushed hard stone/ rock)
4 Providing, laying & compacting WET MIX MACADAM (WMM) using 154.00
clean crushed graded aggregates (conforming to table 400 - 11 of MORT
& H Specification for roads) and granular material, premixed with water at
optimum moisture content in mechanical mix plant, carriage of mixed
material by tipper to site, laying in uniform layers with pavers (completed
thickness not exceeding 150mm) on prepared sub base, rolling with 8
tonnes vibratory roller to desired thickness, camber etc., till the density
achieved is at least 98 percent of the maximum dry density of the
material determined as per IS: 2720 (Part 8), complete all as per clause
406 of MORT & H specification for road.

5 Providing and laying dense graded bituminous macadam using


crushed stone aggregates of specified grading, premixed with bituminous
binder and filler, transporting the hot mix to work site by tippers , laying
with paver finisher equipped with electronic sensor to the required grade,
level and alignment and rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and
tandem rollers as per specifications to achieve the desired compaction
and density, complete as per specifications and directions of Engineer in
charge.

5.1 50 to 100 mm average compacted thickness with bitumen of grade VG- 36.00
30 @ 5%(percentage by weight of total mix) and lime filler @2%
(percentage by weight of aggregates) prepared in Batch Type Hot Mix
Plant of 100-120TPH capacity

6 Providing and laying Bituminous concrete using crushed stone


aggregates of specified grading, premixed with bituminous binder and
filler, transporting the hot mix to work site by tippers, laying with paver
finisher equiped with electronic sensor to the required grade, level and
alignment and rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem rollers
to achieve the desired compaction and density as per specification,
complete and as per directions of Engineer-in-Charge.

6.1 40/50 mm compacted thickness with bitumen of grade VG-30 @ 5.5% 22.00
(percentage by weight of total mix) and lime filler @ 3% (percentage by
weight of Aggregate) prepared in Batch Type Hot Mix Plant of 100-120
TPH capacity.
7 Providing and applying TACK COAT using hot straight run bitumen of 830.00
grade 80 / 100 including heating the bitumen, spraying the bitumen with
mechanically operated spray unit fitted on bitumen boiler, cleaning and
preparing the road surface as per specification etc., for BITUMINOUS
surface at the rate of 0.5kg per sqm.

8 Providing and laying gravel berms of 150mm consolidated thickness 404.00


including supplying approved graded gravel spreading and forming gravel
berms including sectioning, watering, onsolidating with power roller of
minimum 8 tonne weight inclusive of water charges, hire charges of roller,
etc; complete all as per specifications.

9 Providing and laying at or near ground level Factory Made Kerb Stone of 25.00
M-25 grade cement concrete in position to the required line, level and
curvature, jointed with cement mortar 1:3 (1 cement: 3 fine aggregate
(Crushed stone sand produced by crushed hard stone / rock as per IS:
1542)), including making joints with or without grooves (thickness of joints
except at sharp curve shall not to more than 5mm), including making
drainage opening wherever required complete etc. as per direction of
Engineer-in-charge (length of finished kerb edging shall be measured for
payment). (Precast C.C. kerb stone shall be approved by Engineer-in-
charge).

10 Painting STEEL WORK with TWO or more coats of SYNTHETIC 285.00


ENAMEL PAINT of first quality and approved colour to give an even
shade over a coat of suitable primer including cleaning the surfaces,,
etc.; complete all as per specifications .

11 Disposal of earth, building debris etc including loading, transportation, 415.00


unloading at the authorised site as per the diretion and specification of
EIC.
12 Providing and laying light duty Non-pressure NP-2 Class RCC Hume
pipes with collars jointed with stiff mixture of CM 1:2 (cement : fine
aggregate as per IS: 1542) including joints, etc.; complete.
12.1 300mm dia jointed with CM mixture using fine aggregate (Crushed 25.00
stone sand produced by crushed hard stone / rock as per IS: 1542).

Part B:5 REALIGNMENT OF ROAD, DRAINS AND SEWAGE LINES


1 Earthwork in excavation by mechanical means (hydraulic excavator) / 132.00
manual means for FOUNDATION TRENCHES in ALL KINDS OF SOILS
including dressing of sides, ramming of bottom, disposing the surplus
excavated materials within a distance of 50m and lift 1.50m complete all
as per specifications and directions of Engineer-in-charge. (Disposed
earth to be levelled by breaking clods if any and neatly dressed).

4.1 150mm thick / 230mm thick / 300mm thick with fine aggregate (Crushed 71.00
stone sand produced by crushed hard stone / rock)
5 Providing, laying & compacting WET MIX MACADAM (WMM) using 57.00
clean crushed graded aggregates (conforming to table 400 - 11 of MORT
& H Specification for roads) and granular material, premixed with water at
optimum moisture content in mechanical mix plant, carriage of mixed
material by tipper to site, laying in uniform layers with pavers (completed
thickness not exceeding 150mm) on prepared sub base, rolling with 8
tonnes vibratory roller to desired thickness, camber etc., till the density
achieved is at least 98 percent of the maximum dry density of the
material determined as per IS: 2720 (Part 8), complete all as per clause
406 of MORT & H specification for road.

6 Providing and laying dense graded bituminous macadam using


crushed stone aggregates of specified grading, premixed with bituminous
binder and filler, transporting the hot mix to work site by tippers , laying
with paver finisher equipped with electronic sensor to the required grade,
level and alignment and rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and
tandem rollers as per specifications to achieve the desired compaction
and density, complete as per specifications and directions of Engineer in
charge.

50 to 100 mm average compacted thickness with bitumen of grade VG- 14.00


30 @ 5%(percentage by weight of total mix) and lime filler @2%
(percentage by weight of aggregates) prepared in Batch Type Hot Mix
Plant of 100-120TPH capacity

7 Providing and laying Bituminous concrete using crushed stone


aggregates of specified grading, premixed with bituminous binder and
filler, transporting the hot mix to work site by tippers, laying with paver
finisher equiped with electronic sensor to the required grade, level and
alignment and rolling with smooth wheeled, vibratory and tandem rollers
to achieve the desired compaction and density as per specification,
complete and as per directions of Engineer-in-Charge.

7.1 40/50 mm compacted thickness with bitumen of grade VG-30 @ 5.5% 8.00
(percentage by weight of total mix) and lime filler @ 3% (percentage by
weight of Aggregate) prepared in Batch Type Hot Mix Plant of 100-120
TPH capacity.

8 Providing and applying TACK COAT using hot straight run bitumen of 310.00
grade 80 / 100 including heating the bitumen, spraying the bitumen with
mechanically operated spray unit fitted on bitumen boiler, cleaning and
preparing the road surface as per specification etc., for BITUMINOUS
surface at the rate of 0.5kg per sqm.
9 Providing and laying cement concrete using 20mm nominal size
graded hard granite stone aggregate obtained from approved quarry
including compaction, finishing top surface to level, curing, cost of
formwork, etc.; complete all as per specifications. Mix ratio specified is for
Cement : fine aggregate as per IS: 383 : graded hard granite stone
aggregate. IN FOUNDATION AND PLINTH / SUB-BASE TO FLOORS.

9.1 PCC 1:3:6 (Using fine aggregate (Crushed stone sand produced by 27.00
crushed hard stone / rock as per IS: 383))
10 Providing and constructing Solid Cement Concrete Block masonry in
cement mortar 1:6 (Cement : fine aggregate as per IS: 2116) using
factory made, load bearing, approved quality cement concrete blocks of
specified size, Grade C (4.0), as per IS: 2185 (Part 1), density of blocks
not less than 1800kg/cum, minimum average compressive strength of
units is 4.0N/mm² at 28 days and minimum strength of individual unit is
3.2N/mm², setting in position, curing, raking out joints wherever required
etc., complete all leads and all as per specifications and directions of
Engineer-in-charge in FOUNDATION AND PLINTH.

10.1 For 200mm thick walls using (400x200x200)mm size blocks {Using 24.00
fine aggregate (Crushed stone sand produced by crushed hard stone /
rock as per IS: 2116)}
11 Plastering 15mm thick with cement mortar specified below finished
rough including scaffolding, curing, etc.; complete for EXTERNAL
SURFACES of walls, inclusive of sills, jambs, soffits, etc.; complete all as
per specifications for HEIGHTS UP TO 10M ABOVE GROUND LEVEL,
mix specified is for cement : fine aggregate as per IS: 1542.

NOTE: CM 1:3 OR CM 1:4 are generally applicable for ceilings and RCC
surfaces unless otherwise specified.
11.1 With CM 1:6 (Cement: Fine aggregate (Crushed stone sand produced 180.00
by crushed hard stone / rock as per IS: 1542))
12 Providing and fixing M-25 grade PRECAST REINFORCED CEMENT
CONCRETE using graded hard Granite stone aggregate of 20mm
nominal size obtained from approved quarry including mechanical mixing,
centring and shuttering, vibration/ compaction, simultaneously finishing
smooth with 6mm thick cement plaster 1:3 (cement : fine aggregate) on
exposed surfaces and fixing in position with same CM 1:3, curing etc.,
complete all as per specifications but excluding cost of steel
reinforcement UP TO FLOOR FIVE LEVEL.
12.1 Small lintels not exceeding 1.5m clear span over sailings, coping 4.00
shelves and the like (Using fine aggregate (Crushed stone sand
produced by crushed hard stone / rock as per IS: 383))
13 Steel reinforcement for all RCC items including decoiling,
straightening, cutting, hooking, bending, cranking, fabricating to required
shape, placing in position and tying the system with soft drawn annealed
GI binding wire of diameter not less than 1.00mm with 2 strands etc.;
complete as per specifications AT ALL HEIGHTS (binding wire will not
be measured for payment).

13.1 Thermo-Mechanically Treated (TMT) bars - Fe500D 0.40

14 Providing and laying at or near ground level Factory Made Kerb Stone 3.00
of M-25 grade cement concrete in position to the required line, level
and curvature, jointed with cement mortar 1:3 (1 cement: 3 fine
aggregate (Crushed stone sand produced by crushed hard stone / rock
as per IS: 1542)), including making joints with or without grooves
(thickness of joints except at sharp curve shall not to more than 5mm),
including making drainage opening wherever required complete etc. as
per direction of Engineer-in-charge (length of finished kerb edging shall
be measured for payment). (Precast C.C. kerb stone shall be approved
by Engineer-in-charge).

15 Demolishing BRICK/ CC BLOCK WORK in cement mortar including 24.00


stacking of serviceable material and disposal of unserviceable material
within 50m lead.
16 Dismantling of flexible pavement (bituminous courses) by mechanical 95.00
means and disposal of dismantled material up to a lead of 1 kilometre, as
per direction of Engineer-in-charge.
17 Taking out existing CC interlocking paver blocks from footpath/ central 315.00
verge, including removal of rubbish etc., disposal of unserviceable
material to the dumping ground, for which payment shall be made
separately and stacking of serviceable material within 150 metre lead as
per direction of Engineer-in-Charge.

18 Removing existing 150mm thick pre-cast concrete drain cover slab 120.00
and stacking the same within 50mtr lead and relaying the slabs at the
specified locaton in the correct level including jointing with cement mortar
1:3 as directed by Engineer-in-charge at all heights including
scaffolding charges .
19 Labour Charges for laying available cement concrete interlocking 150.00
paver blocks close jointed over bed of 75mm thick sand to a tight
pattern, laid to proper line and level including bedding down the
completed surface with a plate vibrator or by firmly topping level with
mallet and a large flat piece of timber, finishing by brushing clean dry fine
aggregate over the surface to fill all the joints thoroughly including fixing
the edge restraint laying blocks etc.,

complete all as per specifications and directions of Engineer-in-charge.


(Rate to include cost of sand and labour. Only Cement concrete oaver
blocks will be provided by department free of cost)
20 Construction of Manhole of clear dimension 1200X900mm in 230mm
thick brick masonry using first class country bricks in CM 1:3 (cement :
fine aggregate as per IS: 2116) over a bed of 200mm thick CC1:2:4,
plastering with CM 1:2 (cement : fine aggregate as per IS: 1542), 12mm
thick on internal, external surfaces and Internal, top exposed surfaces
finished smooth with a floating coat of neat cement, RCC 1:2:4 with
necessary steel reinforcement as per drawing to support CI

frame and cover of size 610X455mm weighing not less than 52kg
conforming to IS:1726 in CC1:2:4 and CI steps painting with 3-coats of
anticorrosive, black bitumastic paint, encasing of sewer connection to
manhole with PCC 1:2:4 etc. Complete all as specified and directed for
initial depth of 1.0m (Ref. Fig. No. CED:PH 8.8 of PH Engineering
Specification) NOTE: CC 1:2:4 is (cement : fine aggregate as per IS:
383 : graded stone aggregate of 20mm nominal size obtained from
approved quarry).

20.1 Using fine aggregate (Crushed stone sand produced by crushed hard 3.00
stone / rock in above item)
21 Providing and laying light duty Non-pressure NP-2 Class RCC Hume
