76dragon at 2010-05-03 20:00 CET: Thanks for the great torrents. CS5 64 bit applications are so fast!

I thought it would be useful to post step by step instructions (in following posts). You will notice that I recommend to "turn off Airport" during installation and to run "sudo dscacheutil -flushcache" after updating the /etc/hosts file. I'm not sure if these steps are necessary but I recommend to do so anyway. Also notice the link to Acrobat 9 Pro at the bottom of the post: REMOVE OLD ADOBE INSTALLATIONS (IF APPLICABLE) BEFORE INSTALLING ADOBE CS5 Remove the following Adobe applications and files before installing the Adobe CS5 Master Collection: /Applications/Adobe? (everything with Adobe) /Library/Application Support/Adobe /Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher /Library/Preferences/com.adobe... After installation is finished install the 9.1.0 update by double clicking the "AcroProUpd910_all.dmg" installation package. Launch Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and enter the following serial: 1118-0011-0841-2246-4404-1353 Run Adobe Acrobat > Help > Check for Updates? multiple times until Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro is up to date. 76dragon at 2010-05-03 21:18 CET: I just wanted to add a few extra notes. In my first post (above) I show which applications, folders and files to remove to start with a clean system. A few notes: 1) / is the system root folder (which you can find in Finder by clicking on the hard drive icon at devices) 2) ~ is the User folder (which you can find in finder by clicking on the home icon at places)

3) I strongly recommend to delete the "/Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher" folder if you have old Adobe applications installed. Keeping an old version of this folder can cause a variety of licensing errors. It will automatically be regenerated with the CS5 installation. 4) Obviously, if you're attached to your old Adobe application preferences, don't delete the preferences files in the system and User libraries. There is no harm in doing so, they'll be automatically regenerated but by deleting them you will loose your user preferences. I prefer to start with a clean system but that may not be the case for everybody. 5) Acrobat: If you follow the "removal list" in my first post you will also get rid of Adobe Acrobat. You can get the latest version from Demonoid (on the Demonoid website search for "Acrobat Pro 9.0 + 9.1 Update + SN"). RitchieRich at 2010-05-03 23:59 CET: @76dragon Instead of manually editing the hosts file my torrent has a script that automatically adds the correct entries to the host file. http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5528529/Adobe_CS5_Master_Collection_Serials_and_Ac tivation_Blocker-MAC ENJOY!!! 76dragon at 2010-05-04 02:20 CET: One addition to the Removal list of my post above. Also delete the following folder: "/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher" volvo244ti at 2010-05-04 02:21 CET: I have confirmed that if you just DL from Adobe, run the patch and put in one of these serials, it is the same as what is here...and much faster. 76dragon at 2010-05-04 02:32 CET: @volvo244ti You are right, the installation packages are the same on the Adobe website. However, many of us, including myself, prefer to get it via the torrents. With respect to your download speed claim, the number of seeders keeps growing for a popular torrent like CS5 so it will download at maximum speed that your bandwidth allows within a few days. But feel free to download the package at any location at your convenience. thebarry at 2010-05-04 09:33 CET: Just a heads up. I downloaded just the script blocker from another torrent on here which took about 15 seconds and then downloaded the entire master collection trial pack from adobe.com. Much easier and at a decent speed (150+ kbps). Just throwing that out there in case seeding sucks on this torrent (which it did for me initially). nofil at 2010-05-04 10:31 CET: what about www.wip4.adobe.com? should i block that on little snitch or allow? 76dragon at 2010-05-04 15:52 CET: @nofil I just manually altered the "etc/hosts" file to block Adobe servers (see my posts above). CS5 applications run great so at this point I see no need to add "www.wip4.adobe.com" to that list. nofil at 2010-05-04 18:31 CET:

@76dragon thanks! andoro84 at 2010-05-04 19:44 CET: Hello guys! I can't find Acrobat Pro in this package, nor in the official trial download from adobe. Is it possible that the CS5 Master Collection doesn't contain Acrobat??? 76dragon at 2010-05-04 20:50 CET: @andoro84 Perhaps it would have helped you if you would have read the other comments first before you commented. See my comments in this thread at 2010-05-03 20:02 & 21:18 CET for an answer to your question.
