    Chapter 3 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

    This chapter presents the research methodology that the researchers will be using in the study. This includes the research design to be used, description of the population and sample of the study, as well as the sampling technique that is used in selecting samples. Included are the procedure on how the data will be collected and the instrument to be used in collecting the data. The statistical tools used in the organization, presentation, and analysis of gathered data are all taken up.

    Research Design In this study, descriptive research design will be used. The descriptive survey method, a purposive process to collect, analyze, classify and tabulate data on the respondents demographic profile such as age, gender, civil status and years of working experience will be used, and most importantly, data regarding the problems encountered by radiologic technologists in pediatric radiography will be gathered. Population and Sample of the study The respondents of this study are the radiologic technologists working in selected hospitals in quezon city at the 1st semester of 2013. The total population of radiologic technologists in selected hospitals in quezon city is 50 (fifty) thus, this will be the sample population of this study.

    Sampling Technique This study will use the non-probability type of sampling technique. The purposive sampling technique will be used, which starts with a purpose in mind and the sample is thus selected to include people of interest and exclude those who do not suit the pupose which means that all the radiologic technologists who are working in selected hospitals in quezon city during the 1st semester of 2013 will be the respondents. Research Instrument A researcher-made questionnaire checklist will be used to gather the needed data including the respondents profile and ( statement of the problem ). The draft of the questionnaire is draw out based on the researchers readings, previous studies, professional literature, and published thesis relevant to the study. In the preparation of the instrument, the requirements in the design of good data collection instrument is consider. It will be presented first to the adviser for correction and further suggestion; it is pretested with other research groups to find out gaps or if the questions needs to be reconstructed for easy understanding. Close-ended questions will be used, so that responses can be recorded and analyzed quickly. In this way, it is hoped that the questionnaire will provide valid responses from the radiologic technologist respondents. The questionnaire is construct in a standard form following a set of guidelines in formulating questions. The questionnaire is divided into 2 (two) parts. Part 1 is the personal profile of the respondentd that includes name, age, gender, civil status and years of working experience. And part 2 is the respondents ( no idea , may question mark ).
