Following the sale, Auctioneer and Expert-in-charge, Thomas Del Mar, commented: "The sale achieved 1,085,304 (including premium) against a pre-sale estimate of 683,460 - 941,804, with a sold rate of 96% by lot. There were a number of remarkably strong prices in each individual area, as shown by the top ten results. Despite continued concerns in world economic markets the strength of prices in this field remain strong. This was reflected both by the competitive bidding throughout the auction and also an exceptionally high number of attendees we had at the sale and pre-sale exhibition. Notably we had significantly more people register to take part in the sale in the room, on the telephone and the internet than we have in recent years. Our next auction will be held on 5th December.
