ST 3000 - Best in Class

Best installed accuracy over the lifetime of the product

Total Probable Error of 0.135% of span - Improved profits

+/-0.015% stability with guarantee - Fewer calibrations Minimum overpressure effects - Better control w/o re-calibration Minimal transient temperature effects - Better control Flexible communication & control DE, Foundation Fieldbus, 4-20 mA, HART - Applications flexibility Lowest cost of ownership

Widest rangeability in the industry - Lower inventory requirement

Maximum reliability Field reliability > 600 years - Low maintenance costs

Multivariable Transmitter
Multivariable Sensor

Repeatability

The inherently multivariable, piezoresistive sensor measures dp, static pressure and sensor temperature Data used to compensate for the effects of static Pressure and Temperature Other transmitters do not actively compensate for all these effects

Best Installed Accuracy

Should the ambient temperature change, the ST 3000 reacts quickly to maintain process control!

Fast acting ambient temperature measurement - Temperature sensor integrated on pressure sensor provides close coupled temperature measurement for compensation algorithm Large diaphragms minimize effects of fill fluid volume change with temperature

Best In Class Stability

ST 3000 stability of +/-0.015% per year with 5 year guarantee solid as a rock! Faraday shield prevents mobile ion migration from causing drift

Best Installed Accuracy

Large barrier diaphragms induce less effect on pressure measurement Barrier diaphragms are .002 thick for better corrosion resistance Overload mechanism protects the sensor from high speed shocks and overpressure applications to static pressure rating of 3000 psi Single crystal silicon sensor has zero mechanical hysteresis / high sensitivity Meter body design reduces temperature at the sensor for longer life

Calculation Procedure
Honeywell used an outside reliability consultant (Design & Evaluation, Inc.) to determine the theoretical MTBF for the ST 3000 Release 300 Calculation based on MIL-HDBK 217 F Standard, Ground Fixed Environment Calculations performed at three temperature conditions (25, 45 and 70C) ST 3000 component assemblies:
PWA, Integrated Feedback Sensor Pulse Modulator (IFSPM), Pressure Sensor, Meter Body, Terminal Block & RFI Filters

How is the Data Used?

Anticipated probability of failure with temperature. Future field performance will be 4 times better than the theoretical reliability calculation. Historical experience indicates that the calculated data is highly pessimistic. ST3000 R300 Anticipated Field Reliability

ST 3000 Reliability: Actual

Customer Reliability Results Large Refinery tracked 1800 installed transmitters over 9 months time.
Experienced only two transmitter failures during this period Translates into an MTBF over over 600 years for this installation.

SIL Classification
Contracted with exida.com to conduct FMEDA on the ST 3000 Pressure Transmitters Final Report issued August 24, 2001 FMEDA ST3000 v111 Bottom Line: Based on a 35% PFD average budget for the sensor subsystem, both transmitters would meet the PFD average requirements of SIL2 in a single configuration. Both transmitters meet the architectural constraint requirements in IEC61508 at a level of SIL1 for a single configuration. FMEDA Certificate available to reps and customers
