    What is Youth Red Cross ?


    It is the most important constituent of its
    mother organisation Indian Red Cross.
    It is a group movement organised in the
    colleges for age group between 8-25years
    A qualified faculty member is recognised as
    the leader and he is called as Program
    officer
    Under his guidance the students are trained
    and encouraged to manage the affairs of the
    group by electing their own office bearers

    Main Objectives- Youth Red Cross


    Movement
    It is organised for the purpose of
    inculcating in Indian youth the ideals and
    practice of service especially in relation
    to :
    Taking care of own health and that of
    others.
    Understanding and accepting of civic
    responsibility
    Maintaining a spirit of friendliness and
    helpfulness towards other youth in India

    Principles of Youth Red Cross:

    How to start Youth Red Cross Wing


    Respective College should be registered
    with Indian Red Cross Society, Karnataka
    by paying Rs.1,500/- as one time
    payment of registration fee as per G.O.
    No. ED 64 Misc.2011 Bengaluru dt.
    22/12/2011.
    Student membership fee Rs.50/- should
    be collected from each student at time of
    admission. Out of this 30% should be
    sent to IRCS, Karnataka state branch for

    Separate Bank Account should be opened in the


    name of Youth Red Cross Wing and be
    operated jointly by the Principal and Youth Red Cross
    Program Officer.
    The Principal will appoint a Program officer to look
    after Youth Red Cross Wing. If more than 1000
    students enrol, One more Program officer may be
    appointed.
    After submitting the report at the end of the year to
    IRCS,KSB and to Bengaluru Urban District, the
    program officer YRC is permitted to take incentive of
    20% out of 70% of fee collected for having
    successfully conducted and supervised the
    activities.

    YRC members have to take pledge at the


    time of inauguration of the wing.

    of my own health and that of
    others, to help sick and
    suffering, especially children
    and to look upon the youth all
    over the world as my friends

    Committee of YRC
    YRC student members shall elect the following
    office bearers:
    1. Chairman
    2. Vice-Chairman
    3. Treasurer
    4. Secretary
    5. Joint- Secretary
    and 5 EC Members
    This committee will draw the programs for the
    year bearing in mind the main objectives of YRC
    and in consultation with the program officer. This
    committee should meet once in a month to

    Role of the Program Officer


    He is nominated by the college
    principal
    He will be the leader of YRC wing and
    initiate
    1. Formation of the Unit
    2. To Chalk out programs
    3. Monitoring its performance
    4. To ensure maintenance of
    records/accounts and sending
