    dipstick test strips provided by your instructor.
    2. Dip the strip completely, but briefly, into
    specimen.
    3. Compare the reaction colors with the
    manufacturer's chart. Report your observations.
    (NOTE: Compare the results using dipstick with
    the results of the tests above.)

    simultaneous determination of several
    tests.

    reliable results with the dipsticks. Certain
    precautions must be taken to help
    maintain the reactivity of the reagents.

    Proper Storage
    Stored at temperature 15C - 30C
    Do not use after expiration date
    Reagent strips must be kept in its original
    bottle with the cap tightly closed to maintain
    reactivity

    Proper Handling
    All unused strips must remain in the original bottle
    Do not remove desiccant(s) from the bottle
    Do not combine urine strips with different lot
    number together
    Do not touch test areas of the reagent strip.
    When testing, dip test areas in urine completely, but
    briefly, to avoid dissolving of reagents. Read test
    results carefully at time specified, in a good light
    and with the test area held near.

    3. List 5 quality control procedures routinely

    Positive and negative controls at least once per 24 hrs.
    Additional controls run when new bottle is opened, when
    results are questionable, when strip integrity is
    questionable.
    Do not use distilled water as a negative control because
    strips are designed for urine ionic concentration.

    Correlate chemical readings to each other.

    and doesnt require acidification.
