Relay Maintenance
Relay Maintenance
Measurement accuracy
If the power system is energized, the values
measured by the relay can be compared with
known system values, to check that they are in the
approximate range that is expected.
If they are, then the analogue/digital conversion
and calculations are being performed correctly by
the relay.
Alternatively, secondary injection (recommended)
can be done to prove the calibration accuracy is
being maintained.
Thermal withstand of both phase and earth current

100 In - 1 s
40 In - 2 s

- Continuous (In = Inominal, 1 or 5 amp)
Fault Analysis
Event Records
The relay records and time tags events, to a
resolution of 1ms, and stores them in its memory.
An event may be a:
Fault Records
Fault records are viewed on the LCD screen
These records contains information on system
disturbances: time, measurements etc.
Each time a fault record is generated, an event is
also created
The fault measurements in the fault record are
given at the time of the protection start it is a
snapshot of the fault values at the time of fault
inception and can be different from the maximum
fault quantities during the fault duration
