Robo Sand Introduction

ABSTRACT:
Concrete is the most widely used composite
construction material. Fine aggregate plays a
very important role in concrete. Generally, river
sand was used as fine aggregate in concrete.
In this project ,we are going to replace the river
sand with ROBO SAND. River sand is not
available in all places.
INTRODUCTION
Sand is the one of main constituents of concrete making
which is about 35%of volume of concrete used in
construction. Natural river sand contain high percentage
of in organicmaterials, chlorides, sulphates, silt and
clay that adversely affect the strength, durability of
concrete & reinforcing steel there by reducing the life
of structure.

Fine particles below 600 microns must be at least 30 %


to 50% for making concrete will give good results.
Normally these particles are not present in river sand up
to required quantity.

obtained from specific natural granite

1) Casting cubes by replacing robo

percentages respectively.
2) Testing the compressive strength of

days..
3) Noting the results in the tables for
comparing usefulness of robosand.
Future scope
The Government of India is in the process of
imposing ban regulation norms on digging on
riverbeds. This comes in the midst of growing
environmental concerns and greater awareness
of protection of nature bounties. When that
happens river sand will become a scarce item.
And what happens next, go for alternatives.
The alternative is Manufactured and quality
sand (Robo Sand)
