1. Piaget divided cognitive development into 4 stages: sensorimotor period, preoperational period, concrete operations, and formal operations. 2. The sensorimotor period lasts from birth to age 2 where infants learn about the world through their senses and motor abilities. 3. The preoperational period is from ages 2 to 7 where children use symbols and language but cannot think logically yet. 4. Concrete operations stages lasts from ages 7 to 11 where children can think logically about concrete events. 5. Formal operations stage begins at age 11 where abstract thinking and logical problem solving emerge.

piaget is a phycologist who was about the
mental growth process so he divided this
process into 4 stages :

Sensorimotor period
In this period witch is the first period that start from
birth to 2 years, the child start to use him sensory to
explore the out side world and commutability with it.
The child began to understand the external
surrounding by the five senses, after that they start
to have the object permeance and the ability to
object recognition by using the information or the
features about the things to identify them and
categorizing them .
This period get started from age 2 to 7, it is include learning
the child and having a knowledge about the external world .
The child develop his imagining play , start to use serval
words and phrase and his vocabulary growth getting develop
, busy about himself, they cannot separate between the real
or the fantasy, trying to understand the world and the
environment around them by asking questions

Preoperational Period
This stage start from 7 until to 11 and they have the
ability to think logically.
They can understand the differ nets opinions ,
solving simple problems and easy mathematical
excursive and abstract symbolic activities.

Concrete Operations
Formal Operations

This stage began from 11 and more , it is Include


abstract and logical thinking and developing the way
to solve problems by using many of assumption or
expectation until to be sure about the right
expectation , they can use critical thinking and more
aligned to adult thinking.
