 Throughout the project we came to know about various aspects of transportation
and shipping Industry. With the growing international business, Export & Import is
also growing. All these indication point out towards the factors that we need more
& more customization to our work. Transporters & exporters must be made aware
of the container use by advertisements.
 Electronic data Interchange is the vertebral column of any logistic business. The
time taken by information system installed for the organization must be shorter.
The report generation must be linked with the data base so that the replication is
prevented for entering the data and the existing customer is needed so that even a
single demand is fulfilled. After all, this will ensure small but continuous flow of
revenue for the organization.
 Shipping Industry is the prime source of International Business (IB). As per the
data & fact given in this report shows that still there are lot of scope for
development. Investment on port, equipment & business process is required.
• AIM:-The aim of the project is to find out ways for maximizing the efficiency and
security of container supply chains. Globally more than 250 million containers are
shipped annually, carrying 90% of all cargo. Thus smooth container flow is crucial to the
world economy, but they are often subject to costly inefficiencies and are also vulnerable
to terrorist activities, smuggling and fraud. Currently only a small percentage of
containers contents are verified through inspection or scanning (estimated at 2% in
2002). In a recent study it was found that one of the greatest impediments to supply chain
security is the lack of uniformity across international security structures and initiatives.
• FOCUS:- This project will focus on the development and application of technologies
for:-
• Ensuring the safety and security of containers. This includes verifying the contents of
containers and also monitoring the condition of containers.
• Information about the condition of goods inside the containers and real-time locations of
containers accessible to the relevant role-players in the global supply chain.
