FFT is the usual abbreviation (of the English Fast Fourier Transform) of an efficient algorithm that allows
to calculate the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) and its inverse. The FFT is of great importance in a wide
variety of applications, from the digital signal processing and digital filtering in general to the resolution
of partial differential equations or the algorithms of rapid multiplication of large integers. The algorithm
places some limitations on the signal and on the resulting spectrum. For example: the signal from which
samples were taken and which is to be transformed should consist of a number of samples equal to a
power of two. Most TRF analyzers allow the transformation of 512, 1024, 2048 or 4096 samples. The
frequency range covered by the TRF analysis depends on the number of samples collected and the
sampling rate.
