We are going to calculate the 10 marks of the attendance
Attendance based on your full time attendance and you are going to
receive first Warning after missing 12.5% of the lectures
and second Warning after missing 20% of the lectures
“you are not going to sit for the exam In case of missing
25% of the lectures”

in the following areas:

External Examination : 60%


Internal Examination : 40%

1. 1. While terminology may vary, Project
General Management are consistent.
Project 2. A Project Manager needs more than one tools to

▪ The Project Management Body Of Knowledge
Definitions (PMBOK) guides describes the work planning process
as defining and refining objectives and selecting the
best alternatives courses of action.
▪ Knowledge unique to the Project Management field
and overlaps other management disciplines.
▪ There are many tools and techniques unique to Project
Management such as WBS, CPM, EVM.
▪ These tools and techniques alone are not sufficient
without effective Project Management Knowledge and
Skills

▪ The Project Team must recognize and use knowledge
Definitions and skills from at least 5 areas of expertise:

 PMBOK
 Application Area Knowledge, standards and regulations
 Understanding the project environment
 General management, knowledge and skills
 Interpersonal skills

▪ “Organization Planning” is a process that primarily
Definitions concerned with identifying and assigning roles and
responsibilities for the project.

▪ Everyone in the project has a function or rile and a


responsibility assigned to that role or function.

▪ It’s the responsibility of the “Project Manager” to


identify these roles and help influence these team
members in order to keep the project running
smoothly and ensuring project success.

▪ Project Manager
 The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the

 The person who uses organizational resources to
accomplish the project objectives.
 The project manager is “large & in-charge” for the
project.
 He leads each step in the Project Management Process.

▪ Project Sponsor
 The Sponsor & The Project Manager are the “Owners” of
the Project.
 Usually, the Sponsor will come from Senior Management,
but can be customer in some cases.
 Sponsor who provides Financial Resources (Budgets) to
the project.

▪ Senior Management (Executive Management):
 Senior Managers are the people above the Project
Definitions Manager
 They will prioritize the projects.
 They will initiate the project, delegate project
responsibilities and authority to the Project Manager.
▪ Functional Manager:
 Manages specific resources required to create
deliverables required for the project.
 Project Managers will coordinate and negotiate with the
functional managers for the resources needed for the
project.
 They are often involved in Project Planning & setting
priorities for the project.

▪ Project Team Member:
The group of individuals that is performing the work
Definitions required for the project and project delivery
▪ Stakeholder:
Stakeholders are unique for each project and include
anyone actively involved in the project and whose interests
may be positively or negatively affected by the execution or
completion of the project.
▪ Customer:
The person or organization that will acquire or use the
project’s product, service or result.

 is the process of Planning, Organizing, Controlling and

 is a process to achieve an objective in an efficient and
effective manner.

Project Management
 A dynamic process that utilizes the appropriate resources
of the organization in a controlled and structured manner,
to achieve some clearly defined objectives identified as
needs.
 It is always conducted within a defined set of constraints
